Ha! I'm glad you catch his name. I keep seeing Seretta on the subtitles. Not to be rude.. I keep seeing him going on a bus on his own. I rarely see the dog doing any signature tasks. I'm guessing he just use her as a free companion xD Question: I always wonder how blind people cook or how they live their life while being blind. Cheers for sharing this with us. I hope smart AI or robots will help the blinds get their independence.

@@condorX2 he mentioned that Seretta was less than a month away from turning 10 and that it is required for guide dogs to retire at 10 and by now she's probably already 10 or even 11 so I'm not sure if you missed after she retires she will be a house pet ..hope that helps

A great story. When a guide dog is wearing a harness it is working so don’t call or pat it. You might distract the dog from the tasks it is doing and could even put the dog and its handler in danger. Guide dogs provide constant companionship and can help combat loneliness and depression. Another way to assist blind people is to speak to and acknowledge them first.
@jiarui13123 жыл бұрын
I’m crying so hard after watching this! I do hope the public acceptance towards guide dogs spreads, their job is to help their owners to get on track with their life and be normal. Don’t shun them, they deserve to be just like any house pet and their owners deserve to be just like any of us.

Singapore still has not done enough for guide dogs. Not enough awareness and support. I have seen people approaching blind people in malls telling them that they cant have dogs in the malls.

He already mentioned, Seretta is 10 years old, reaching retiring age, long journey guiding can be very tedious for her, probably he didn't want her to exhaust herself...
