It's hard to admit but I myself have been afraid of people with down syndrome. I try to be polite but because I never understood them I mistake them for who they are. This video has really changed my perspective on people with down syndrome :) I'll do my best to be more understanding from now on.
@nnn-v6w5 жыл бұрын
Why? Was it ignorance
@herb_rolls5 жыл бұрын
It's important to be honest about these fears because it can help us better understand where education and society has created an alienation of both groups. I too am slightly afraid of people with mental disabilities because they're thinking is so different than mine and I don't want to hurt them but I also very uncomfortable around them as they don't resemble what I see as safe and trustworthy. I'm working on it every day and my experience does not at all rival the hardships people who mental disabilities have to deal with. But I think we need to be honest about our systematic ignorance and prejudice because how else do we combat it? Where do these fears come from and how can we address them? I think education and not segregating special needs kids in early education is a good start but we don't have the education funding to support enough special needs staff for classrooms.

I cried a lot through this video! Down syndrome people need to be understood as people who just are different in some way, but capable of doing anything as any other human in the world! They're not monsters, they even may be sweeter and kinder than most of the people out there. Growing in a supportive environment with people that understand their needs and treat them nicely and patiently is a must, but obviously lots and lots of love! The relatives in this video are the absolute best!

Again with the feeble-minded vermin. Such non-normal, non-people have destroyed countless lives by just being in existence in the first place. I had many acquaintances, all perfectly normal people. They were wrongfully associated with such non-humans. Because of these things, they have been needlessly taunted, and even threatened, by their peers, and the occasional passer-by. As a result, their lives were destroyed. That is why I don't just demand, I NEED, the complete and total extermination, of such feeble-minded vermin, on a global basis. These things should be shot... Personally, I would line these things up against a wall, and shoot those things right in front of their families. Nothing less than a complete and total extermination will do. AND NOTHING LESS THAN A COMPLETE AND TOTAL EXTERMINATION CAN DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude with the yellow and blue striped shirt really made my day, all them actually. Singapore really is advanced in many ways, in Brazil most Down syndrome kids are treated differently which end showing later in life. Seeing this really shows that if you care enough for someone, they'll definitely succeed in life.
