Just bought a lavender oil from a 100 yen shop in Japan and found out these amazing hacks, as a beginner to the essential oil Thanks for the tips.

Great tips, as always! A quick story. I decided to make your toilet bombs, but had to order citric acid. It took awhile before it arrived and by the time it arrived I couldn’t remember what in the world I bought it for. I went to my cabinet where I keep my DIY products based on your tips. Still couldn’t remember-long story short I remembered Sunday and mixed some up. They are incredible and you are awesome. I never did DIYs before. Now I am hooked. Thank you!

I make mini embroideries, and I made one as a decoration for my car. Since it has a wooden back, I can add a few drops of EO to it to make the car smell nice. You can do it with any wooden decoration for your rearview mirror, I guess. :)

Rather than sprinkling baking soda and then essential oils on the carpet, I have a jar with baking soda and I put a few drops of oil in it. Best left a few days to a week or so but then sprinkle on the carpet. The smell is dispersed better and it uses less oil to cover a room. I always have a jar ready in the cupboard. A query I have regarding using oils is is there an issue with the oil leaving marks on walls or on clothing when using it direct? I can imagine the clothes would smell great but would there be a grease stain in the fabric that is hard to get out?

If you put lemon or any citrus essential oil on anything plastic it can melt it down especially if the plastic is heated, like the car air vent. Careful with that. Also never use oils undiluted.
@emerencespringer3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I'm So Glad I'm not the only one pointing this out. I love essential oils and Use them as much as I can. I happen to Use some and didn't wash my hands, I went to use the computer and there's Now a finger print on my mouse. For the first several of the so called hacks, I would suggest mixing essential oils with baking soda and using a sprinkle of the baking soda in the garbage can on the carpet or vacuum or in the car. For the car air freshener you can Get a glass bottle with a wooden top, amazon and craft stores etx mix essential oils with any carrier oil and put in glass bottle and tilt. The wood absorbs the oil mixture and releases into the air. If you put the essential oil directly on the wood it evaporates too quickly. Another option is to get ratton reeds and a glass bottle and the same carrier oil, essential oils blend, rotate the reeds Daily or as needed. As for putting essential oils on plastic, it breaks down the plastic and can potentially release toxic fumes, remember plastic is created from by products of petroleum, the stuff where gasoline comes from. Same thing as Vaseline, petroleum jelly. Hmmm. So essential oils will damage your dashboard vents, and possibly have your garage bags break. Might take off the finish of your walls, paint, ruin marble or other countertop, fabric and inside the dryer. Better to use essential oils diluted in distilled water in a Spray to clean with, instead of Witch hazel, for clothes use essential oils in the washer, instead of the dryer to get out stains and freshen, but If you want to freshen clothes in the dryer, apply essential oils to wool balls, plus your clothes will dry faster. Essential Oils are fantastic but do you're own diligence in research and don't just take one source for "hacks". Always test a hidden section before the whole, just in case.
