My Polish Nana made great cabbage rolls. I have her special small soup spoon I like to use. She was just like your Mom! Had to jump on any fad diet or food that was new... and the whole house had to go through it! The worst was when healthy spaghetti came out... My Popa took one look at the brown whole wheat spaghetti sitting in sauce, shook his head no and took us out to Kentucky Fried Chicken!! Toilet paper rolls over in my house! Hope your furnace is fixed soon! Sure do enjoy your videos and hope your Hubby comes back for another, you are a great team!

I loved your story about your mother. My mother would go on the cabbage soup diet as well. She called it Peel-a-Pound soup. The theory was it burned more calories for your body to digest it than the soup actually contained. It didn’t have the rice or the hamburger so although I liked it, the novelty of eating it would wear off very quickly. I love your videos. I find them very calming and I like trying the recipes. Thank you!

Greetings again Colleen! Well, you've done it again! I made this soup/hearty soup today and oh my goodness! I followed your guide as I do print out your recipe and am starting a little cookbook with all of your recipes to make as I get around to them. I can't add just my favorites as they are ALL my favorites! You have so inspired me to try some of these things that I have never had and again, absolutely delicious! I was surprised at this soup as tasting it as I went along did not give me a solid idea of the final flavor but oh when I totally had it done and served it up, hubby and I are totally sold! I am excited as well to see if the flavors will mingle as it rests overnight as we are definitely having it for lunch tomorrow. Adding the rice really made a huge difference and was just perfect! It is a hearty soup for certain and perfect as our weather has been so very cold, unlike most of the Seattle type of weather. No snow, at all for us but the cold is unreal. Thank you again for all you offer us. It's amazing and we've been enjoying many of them. Oh yes, also I want to thank you for sharing that about even frozen chicken will cook in the instapot in 20 min. I've always defrosted it and cooked it a lot longer, so I tested mine this AM with frozen chicken and sure enough you added another shortcut to my cooking time. Thank you for that. Now I have 6 large chicken breasts to make some chicken salad sandwich mix. :-) Blessings to you and I hope your furnace got repaired. You are correct, the electric meter will spin way too fast! :-( Have a beautiful week ahead!

I think carrots were left out of the printed recipe as well. Looks yummy tho, with the cold weather most of us are having as well.

My dad used to always make peel a pound soup without meat but he always added beef stock and bouillon

Ps. Was that 5 cups of cabbage? I don’t think I see it listed in the recipe. (I apologize if I am blind to it!) Also, I don’t think I see the carrots listed.

We got snow earlier in the week in central Pennsylvania right now it’s 0° out and it has been for about three days. I hate this one. I broke my femur two months ago and they put a large metal rod in it and that gets so cold so quick.

I was looking at your written recipe and there’s no cabbage or carrots in it. Did you add the theme, Italian seasoning and rosemary off camera?
