My Polish Nana made great cabbage rolls. I have her special small soup spoon I like to use. She was just like your Mom! Had to jump on any fad diet or food that was new... and the whole house had to go through it! The worst was when healthy spaghetti came out... My Popa took one look at the brown whole wheat spaghetti sitting in sauce, shook his head no and took us out to Kentucky Fried Chicken!! Toilet paper rolls over in my house! Hope your furnace is fixed soon! Sure do enjoy your videos and hope your Hubby comes back for another, you are a great team!

I loved your story about your mother. My mother would go on the cabbage soup diet as well. She called it Peel-a-Pound soup. The theory was it burned more calories for your body to digest it than the soup actually contained. It didn’t have the rice or the hamburger so although I liked it, the novelty of eating it would wear off very quickly. I love your videos. I find them very calming and I like trying the recipes. Thank you!

Sorry to hear you’ve been struck down with pneumonia @yeegraham, having had it myself a few years ago, I can truly empathise with how weak it leaves you. Take care of yourself, it can take many months to fully recover, so take things easy. It’s a godsend to have pre-made soups & stews in the freezer when you’re not feeling 100%. Wishing you a complete & full recovery ❤️‍🩹 & hope you’re being well looked after as you convalesce. God bless 🙏, eat well & try to get plenty of rest. 💞💕

Comfort food on a cold winter's day.....perfect! Nothing tastes as good to me as cabbage roll soup or casserole. Brings back so many wonderful childhood memories of Sunday nights spent eating cabbage rolls in front of the television while watching Walt Disney. Mom made the rolls for years until I learned of the casserole and told her about it. She switched to the casserole and never looked back lol. Thanks for this great soup and I plan to make it today. Greetings again Colleen! Well, you've done it again! I made this soup/hearty soup today and oh my goodness! I followed your guide as I do print out your recipe and am starting a little cookbook with all of your recipes to make as I get around to them. I can't add just my favorites as they are ALL my favorites! You have so inspired me to try some of these things that I have never had and again, absolutely delicious! I was surprised at this soup as tasting it as I went along did not give me a solid idea of the final flavor but oh when I totally had it done and served it up, hubby and I are totally sold! I am excited as well to see if the flavors will mingle as it rests overnight as we are definitely having it for lunch tomorrow. Adding the rice really made a huge difference and was just perfect! It is a hearty soup for certain and perfect as our weather has been so very cold, unlike most of the Seattle type of weather. No snow, at all for us but the cold is unreal. Thank you again for all you offer us. It's amazing and we've been enjoying many of them. Oh yes, also I want to thank you for sharing that about even frozen chicken will cook in the instapot in 20 min. I've always defrosted it and cooked it a lot longer, so I tested mine this AM with frozen chicken and sure enough you added another shortcut to my cooking time. Thank you for that. Now I have 6 large chicken breasts to make some chicken salad sandwich mix. :-) Blessings to you and I hope your furnace got repaired. You are correct, the electric meter will spin way too fast! :-( Have a beautiful week ahead!

Hi Colleen, sorry to hear your furnace has gone on strike & hope you get it back up & running asap 🥶, burst water pipes is always a worry when your heating breaks down in the depths of winter.🫣 Home made soup is always a winner herein Scotland in winter, I make bit pots regularly, such as Scotch broth, Ham & veg with lentil, chicken veg & rice, potato & leek, minestrone, chicken noodle, various cream of’s etc but this is a new recipe for me, I’ve never made cabbage roll soup & look forward to trying it out.😋 Typically we usually have home baked crusty bread & butter or buttered rolls to accompany our soup here, very filling & natures central heating! 🥣😊 Take care, keep as warm as you can & thanks 🙏 as always for sharing. xx 💞💕🩷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@ You are most welcome Colleen, so pleased to hear that your furnace is back up & running, & your normal heating has been restored.☺️ Currently here in Ayrshire right now we’re “battening doon the hatchets … there’s a hoolie blawin’ in! 🫣💦💨💨💨💨💨” We are in the grips of a red weather warning ⚠️ from Storm Éowyn & experiencing fierce gale force winds & rain, forecast to reach winds of 94+ mph by mid morning, I’ve been watching through baited breath, my poor wee garden 🪴 get blown to bits for the last couple of hours.🫣 Power outages, fallen trees & flying debris are predicted, with a risk to life across N Ireland & Cenral/SW Scotland, so with God’s grace 🙏, pray that everyone stays home where possible & stays safe. Thoughts are with emergency service workers, hospital staff & public service workers, who have to brave the elements, prayers 🙏 for their safety! Take care & thank you for taking the time to respond. xx 💞💕😊

We got several inches of snow last night on the SC coast. It's part of the weird winter storm Enzo that has brought snow to coastal areas all through the Southeastern US. This will be our coldest night, around 19 degrees F with a wind child that will make it seem much colder. I like a soup spoon, a rounded spoon that's a bit larger than a teaspoon. It's too much work to eat soup with a tiny spoon!
