Not all OCS instructors are good. I had an ex colleague who kept boosting how great he was and how his cadets worship him. Not only is he ego, he is also prejudice easily jealous and make wrong decsions. Because of him I have little respect for people who goes around telling people how great they are as instructors in SAF.

There are like 200-300 colonels at anytime in SAF and around 30 generals. Many retired with those ranks means there are thousands of colonel and above ranks… how many become politicians? A handful.

Not necessarily, but he should have a job within Govt sectors after his full time military service if he get to be interviewed by media. There is not glitch with his successful military career. To be selected they need certain characteristics and he may not fully fit their criteria . But nevertheless he is an admirable man

1. There's 195 countries on earth. How many colonels do you know who has actually been deployed to a real battle or war? 2. Following your logic that any commander should be battle tested. How many wars and battle are ongoing right now? Should all the countries send at least one military person to experienced battle and in what capacity? 3.
