Wish i'd found your channel sooner! I hope its not too late to plant some more peas! Will give it a try and hope for a warm fall Subscribed!

It really depends on where you live. For me it's too late, but if you are in a warmer area then you might still have some time. Another option would be to plan on covering them with a hoop house when it gets cold. But choose snow peas or sugar snap peas, not shelling.

Could I plant potatoes at the beginning of July?
@StoneyAcresGardening3 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much time you have before your first fall frost. You would need at least 90 days, maybe more depending on the variety.
@jardinardennais4355 Жыл бұрын
Yes, choose a variety that need 75 to 90 days. I planted potatos "Charlotte" variety here in north of France and they are doing well. I mulch them with my hay.

Thank you. We live in east central ND. Two 2K sq ft gardens this yr vs 1 last yr, and working hard. Learning new things. We started channel too, but feel overwhelmed w everything and haven't been posting regularly. Getting rid of our wifi, so may not be able to continue......

I'm sorry to hear that, we need more good gardening channels!

@@StoneyAcresGardening we can go to town to upload vids, but they put 5 G tower out in our rural area, so the wifi is currently running on that. I'm a nurse by trade (left 2yrs ago to start Homesteading, hubby still works in town half hr drive in), and the technology we use now is not safe for the human body, and the wavelength/frequencies w this 5G interferes w O2 spectrum, not allowing it to bind appropriately to the hemoglobin cells and carry throughout body, in turn reducing O2 absorption in body. This 6G they want interferes w the Iodine spectrum. Our bodies have their own frequencies and are essentially energy (AEDs/EEGs/EMGs). These technologies interfere w the homestatic balance of the anatomy/physiology of the human body. I should do a video on that alone. Time for people to be getting back to basics, and start growing their own food. Also learning indoor hydroponics and greenhouse growing will be necessity according to my fam in miLiTarY. Be Blessed and thank you for the ex information.

I'm in zone 3 and we are getting temperatures in the 90s. Zone 3 doesn't mean a cooler summer it just means a shorter summer. We do have longer days in the summer.

You can't plant Brussels sprouts in July in zone 4! They would never mature in time. They take 90 days!

You can't plant spinach in July in zone 4. It's too frickin hot! You should keep your garden advice to the zone you live in. You obviously don't know much about zone 4a in northern Wisconsin where I live.

Paul I plant spinach every year on August 1st, in Zone 6. Our temperatures in August are right at 100 for most of the month and in the 90's for all of it. If you want a really good crop of fall/winter spinach then you need to start planting 8 weeks before your first frost. Just keep them well watered and they will do fine and then start maturing when the weather cools. I'm still harvesting from those August plantings, of course they are all protected with cold frames and fabric row cover. and they will last all winter and into the spring.

@@StoneyAcresGardeningYour kindness speaks volumes. The person above was not so nice, and you were very gracious. It’s so appreciated and refreshing to see a heart like yours, in this dog-eat-dog selfish world. Jesus would be proud! 🤍✨
