@Anonymous Do you want me to be honest with you darl? I was petrified. I cried before doing my speech and was picking my nails and shaking the entire time I was speaking. The fear was there. But do you know what, I did it. And you can’t live life safely sometimes you have to take risks, even if those risks petrify you. If you don’t try you’ll never know. If it makes you feel better do the scariest thing you can think of and whoever you encounter something else scary you can say ‘well I did this and it’s not as bad’.

I can sympathise with Holly so much. I had to change schools in the middle of Year 9 because of severe bullying for a difference that is beyond my control, and am in no doubt whatsoever that the second school essentially saved my life. They were supportive, they listened, they did everything in their power to make my time there a positive and healing experience and I even now, in my 30's, have so much respect for those teachers and staff. I unfortunately didn't have the confidence Holly does, so didn't apply for head girl, but she seems to have it in spades and absolutely deserves the position.
