that’s a lie. SRK and Aamir are top-tier in skill and versatility. Ranveer and Hrithik too. in Tamil, Kamal Hassan, Suriya, even Rajini is a great actor skill-wise if you’ve seen his older movies. Telugu, obviously Charan, Jr. NTR, Allu Arjun aren’t fantastic actors. Prabhas’s movie selections have been bad since Baahubali but clearly in both Baahubali movies he was terrific

In Telugu, Kannada there are no much great actors today worth to be mentioned.Soms exceptions are kicha sudeep,rishab Shetty, Raj b Shetty but they are still no way near a great actor.

You definitely have to watch Mathilukal, sadhayam, bhoothakanadi for understanding why mammotty and mohanlal are actors first and then movie stars. Also must watch it to understand why you see soo much importance on story in malayalam as I believe those are few writers and stories that inspire the people you see today. You need to know these legengery writers of malayalam cinema as you have always mentioned your love for story and acting in malayalam cinema multiple times. I do believe the people associated with these movies are the reasons for all that. Ofcourse there are others as well but start with them.

Sadayam is a very good movie, but what is special to that please explain. What I have seen is mohanlal 's acting and I cried. But now what's his condition, he done some surgery on face during Odiyan and he can't come to us as the same Mohanlal as he was

The 1990 film 'Mathilukal', starring Mammootty and KPAC Lalitha' s voice, I watched this when it was released on vcr and much later too... You go through so many emotions while watching this movie....of hope to live, of holding onto a moment of happiness, of having a reason to look forward to..... It's a wonderful movie if you are a patient viewer....

Kamal Hassan once said his national best actor awards were undeserving since Mohanlal didn't get the award for this particular film. Guess the range of his performance

If you're choosing to watch any of the pre 2000 movies , keep in mind that these are different from today's malayalam movies. Most of these are artistic movies with no fun part . The art is the fun . Try to relate first to those days culture and social scenario somehow and then enjoy the watch , otherwise there's a chance that you to get detached from the storyline and characters .

Pookalam is about an almost 90 year old grandfather who finds a love letter of his wife who is almost his age . That letter was written about 50 years ago. So which means granny received this letter while she was married to grandpa. And there starts the drama. Grandpa is furious. Wants a divorce. Watch it to see the turn it takes. Beautiful story.
