it's an exaggeration to say all Indians eat really spicy food. It's RELATIVELY spicy when compared to other cuisines. I personally can handle medium spice. High spice kills me like Korbin !

Bhoot jolokia burns like hell. Tried just a pinch of it once at a restaurant in Mumbai, my eyes started watering, coughing like a madman and all that good stuff. I can't even imagine how much worse the actual homegrown chilli would be 😂😂

India has the spiciest natural chilly in the world...ghost pepper or bhut jholakia.. rest of them like Carolina reaper and others are all artificially made by genetic modification. Indian Ghost pepper is natural. All the other spiciest ones contain Ghost pepper in some amount.

Lal Maas is made with Matahania Chiilies which very, very red in color but are not hot at all. A second chiili is used to bring the heat as Matahnia chilli has no heat

These shown in the video are King Chillies. They too are extremely spicy for those who haven’t tried it. It’s quite regularly consumed in Nagaland as well as in other states of Northeast. Bhoot jolokias are rounder and even spicier. Yes, you can’t taste anything when you are not used to it. But it’s eaten as a delicacy in almost all of the 7 sisters. You’ll find the pickled version in almost every households in my village. It’s an acquired tolerance built over time.

In northeast Ghost Pepper is one of the the “FAVOURITE” things to pickle. I’m not very tolerant to it. But I have seen people taking one whole in their normal meals. We have picked Ghost Peppers mostly with bamboo shoots. Can’t write more as my mouth is full of water.
