Rose syrup will not remind you of perfume 🤣 It tastes a lot like fragrant candy but it definitely won't remind you overpoweringly of the flower. Look up Gulkand ✌

We are very used to having rose in food. Western ppl only associate rose with its fragrance and not food. So they are conditioned to remember perfume when they smell it, and can’t comprehend it as a food item.
