Guys I've been repeatedly saying u guys for the last 3 years please acquaint yourself with Mahabharat, and see now this director himself is saying that he kinda made a sequel to Mahabharat, so if you're not well versed with Mahabharat and it's characters, you will not get the essence of Kalki.

If it is an Indian guy, you can ask them to go "acquaint" with the story as already people would have come across it many times in their childhood. But asking someone from a different culture to keep up with the story is ridiculous and doesn't make any sense Om raut made one garbage film relying fully on the story instead of trying anything to pull the audience. The result is no one came to watch that. Even explaining through this prelude doesn't do anything to someone to go read Mahabharata. All lies on Nag Ashwin's ability to either convey the essence of Mahabharata in the film itself or either 'pique interest' which would then help people to go back to epic. So please refrain yourself from crying in comments.

@@theinspiredmindYT 🙂 but not everyone gives good precise information. Actually Telugu has some good vids covering these topics. I requested them to do them in English. But maybe it isn't easy . It's ok though - we saw Star Wars ,Avatar with our philosophy in mind. And it worked for us . They would watch this with their philosophy and it would be fine . Cycle of life, redemption, rise of a hero these are all the same all over the world. 👍🏻

No foreign person (who isn't familiar with the Mahabharata epic) is going to grasp the core of the story because the intertwining plotlines and character arcs are among the most intricate in any epic worldwide. Creating a Mahabharata movie is a mammoth task in itself. When you consider the Mahabharata, "Game of Thrones" becomes a puny tale; that's the level of intricacy the story has and the absurdly complex relationship dynamics that the Western world is unfamiliar with. If we were to combine all DC and Marvel characters, the resulting battle would be comparable to the Mahabharata war-it's that epic, a level beyond imagination, with literally a thousand characters involved. The unfortunate part is that it has never been portrayed correctly on screen in that way; it would require at least a billion dollars to fund such a project to see it in its grandest visual form. I wish I could see that realized before I die; someone has to dare to make it a reality. It would undoubtedly become the biggest blockbuster ever created in the history of world cinema, but today's cinema technology is still behind to capture its essence in that glory. Today, only two people are credible enough to create it together if they wish to, James Cameron(tech expert) + S S Rajamouli(subject expert). Hope we get to see it someday...

With the advance AI movies that are going to come into existence, I believe there is a possibility to see 1000s of characters in a single movie or series. For Mahabharata scale, series will better portray the characters than concluding such a story with a movie.

The difference between chotta Bheem and a cutting edge anime show is nothing but the ART STYLE AND BUDGET!! Anime is cult in Japan they take this artform very seriously so they put all their artistic endeavour into it. Where as choota Bheem is just for pre teenage kids who they don't put that much money or labour into it, hence it's art style/ animation quality is low tier.

The kali" will come to destroy the world and the 10th avtar of lord Vishnu called "kalki" will born to stop "kali"( who will be the villain in the movie probably kamal Hasan's character). And ashwatthama (amitabh's character) is an immortal warrior (from Mahabharat) and he's been around for over 6000 years. And his purpose is to protect Deepika's character in the movie so the "kalki" will be born and defeat the "kali'. Prabhas is not "kalki'' kalki is the one who's in Deepika's vomb.

Kali Yuga end will lead to sathyuga again - So, Ashwathama waiting for Kallki isn't to end the world, but to rebuild the world . Nag Ashwin forgot to mention the cycle of yugas. It's a mathematical marvel - Kalpa, Yuga, Mahayuga, manvantaras - kalpam is the start and end of one earth. Yugas are a small cycle in the middle of many cycles. You need not know any characters or history to understand this cyclical Time concept . Try, it will be fun 👍🏻

Hopefully the Story.. The unborn kid is the avatar. Big B tries to protect them from evil empire who wants to kill mother and child. Prabas is a funky character/a bounty hunter who doesn't care much about the empire or it's people. The Warriors from empire failed to abduct the mother so they put on a bounty on her. Near to the climax, Big B dies/Gets Hurt/Trapped. Now everything in Prabas hands. Prabas realises his destiny and the importance of Deepika and her unborn child who's the saviour and next Avatar-Kalki Prabas tries to protect them from empire and saves some people. That makes him the People's warrior and a hero. Then the civil war comes between people and the empire. Kingdom falls but the Evil Empire(Kamal) escapes. Baby Borns. (Second part)

There is a text called Kalki Puran and also Bhavishya Puran that takes off a lot of things from the end of the Mahabharat and other Purans. Purans are considered as historical texts in the Indian context. The western notion of history does not factor these even in context to Indian history. SO the story is part creative and part of narratives of the texts eg Shambhala is mentioned in the Kalki Puran. So its more than just an imaginative post Mahabharat and Kali Yuga apocalypse.

Kalki is supposed to be last avatar of Lord Vishnu who according to Vishnu Purana mentions that in 2026 Kalki will be born in Shambala in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Shambhala is the land that is holding the destiny of mankind, a celestial kingdom, where only the God's will reigns. As per the legends, Shambhala is well guarded by holy spirits. Kaliyuga started just 5,100 years back. 4,27,000 remaining years are there. Kaliyuga runs on one leg out of four. In the last years of Kaliyuga, dharma (righteousness) will reduce to high levels. Adharma (unrighteousness) takes place in full length. There will be no good rains. Either storms or floods takes place frequently. Innocent people will find no rescue.
