Indians not just for movies but for every achievement of India - there is always a section of ppl who can’t digest it or accept it and go around dismissing the achievement. I love how he gave credit to everyone, including the Ukrainian dancers. Rick and Korbin, since you guys tout the Oscars as the end-all and be-all of everything, you should read the NPR article that came out today that analyzed the international film category at the academy awards, and how it’s mostly Western European movies that are nominated and who win. The Global South is climbing an uphill battle here.

I think most People in India only consider for Stories. They are listeners for generations . Listening to Ramayana and Mahabharata for thousands of years. But Cinema is a visual medium and not just audio so it's not all about story. RRR has a good story but most importantly how it is told visually. The Cinematography, direction, creative fight choreography, the grand set pieces, the scale and the epicness of it, most things goes unnoticed by people here i think. From east to west RRR is big hit.

No need to justify the success of rrr. We already know and have experienced this epic legendary cinema in theaters. Noone could deny the fact that rrr is one of the best movies india has ever created. Even my family is so upset that the movie didnt get a nomination in best international film category coz it deserves it. I dont know why some idiots are bashing in the comment box. My favourite choreography by Prem Rakshit is still Nachore Nachore from Yamadonga. That song also had a lenghthy take which SSR loves. Jr. Ntr was unstoppable in that song.

Only said that this is not only a bromance/friendship film Bromance is a new concept for westerners. Two men holding hands is considered gay where as two men friends can be seen roaming around with hands-on shoulders.
