Finally somebody is doing what I've always wanted any director of India to do, that is, Mahabharat (one of the greatest Indian epics). Hollywood has made so many mythological epic films like Hercules, Attack On The Titans and so on. It's time for us Indians now to also do that. I'm proud of Rajamouli sir for doing this and making the whole India proud and showing our incredible culture to the world

@@sahilviradia6102 Mahabharata is too big to actually attempt first of all. Secondly, even though we are familiar with the talent of Raja sir. It would still be a pompous challenge! He would surely be able to handle the grand scale but there are so many subtle aspects in Mahabharata that would require patience, too much homework (from the Actors too). So very very challenging task. Also, to mention Ekta Kapoor's hilarious effort and other people who have tried and failed completely.

I really want to see a spectacularly made Indian mythological movie. But it just doesn't work out as a proper movie that can cross boundaries. In India, you cannot take many cinematic liberties with mythological stories. Anything and everything can end up in a controversy. That is not the case with Hollywood as their movies are based on extinct pagan religions.

The way Gods are depicted in all the TV and movies till now where literally no one can do any wrong. The gods are infallible for Indians. They are not held to normal human standards. Netflix was ultra smart to take only hindi version cuz most Indian audience don't watch with subtitles. Hindi is most popular language in India and Pakistan, Bangladesh, nepal, Bhutan. Afghanistan of the world also understands Hindi. It's pure business from Netflix's side. Pay less and get more for Netflix.

Thank you for your support for the original language. But from a Telugus perspective: Success to any part of India is Success to India. We may compete internally with each other or with other states/languages but it doesn't mean we hate them and I don't believe they hate us too. As long as true Bharatiya culture is represented at global level Telugu people will never have problem how the outsiders interpret India to be or the languages spoken. We will definitely have a problem when the Ancient cultures and languages are disrespected in the country. 🙏

That woke question is clearly instructed by Netflix. I love those times when strong female lead characters were made organic and felt natural not forced to push an agenda like now. Majority of the people doesn't care if it is female or male lead as long as the story demands it. Problem is you can see they deliberately add a strong flawless female characters with no "character" to fill the quota which makes you don't care.

What were those times you are referring to? There is apparent gender inequality in films. There exists a whole test "The Bechdel test" to showcase the absence of strong female characters in fiction. Hindi dub is also good as it has the originial voice of All major cast memebers whereas in Telugu, Alia's and Ajay Devgn's voice is dubbed by others. Only negative is that its not in the original language in which it has been made & also the songs are dubbed.

Sometimes i feels like it's not our country. The level of preference Hindi language get around here, man... Is it frustrating. I am not saying only south india have good movies. But we have and we are making them. So why does it so hard for them to support our films like we are supporting theirs. Instead everyone just keeps on remaking.

It will change slowly. Very slowly, but it will happen. As long as people are interested in the film and have access to the original version. 777 Charlie took a conscious decision to stagger the OTT release. It is currently only available in Kannada and I have a friend who would have preferred Hindi but watched it with subtitles and thanked me for the recommendation.

I think the more successful film-makers need to start dictating terms about giving preference to the original language over dubbed versions. This is already happening with 777 Charlie (helped by the fact that the rights went to the only pan-india OTT that seems to have an eye on the Kannada market). The OTT release is currently in Kannada only and I think they plan to stagger the rest of the versions after giving the Kannada version gets it's fair share of run-time. People who have really wanted to see the film, did not let the language or the smaller platform deter them.

No no no..You would buy a version of theatrical film in the version where you think you can get your investment back.. RRR had a large opening in native languages as opposed to Hindi, hence they must have taken it in Hindi, as there were larger chunk of audience who still were yet to watch the film.. buying all versions would have meant additional cost which wouldn't have resulted in the decline of rate of return.. English viewers would only watch it with subtitles.. i feel that it was a rational decision from Netflix's end..
