It's sad that CBSE had an entire chapter dedicated to history of cricket, American Corn Farming and Fashion and Art in Victorian England but no subject or section whatsoever dedicated to regional art forms of India. Not sure if it's being taught in state boards, at least it wasn't taught to us back in the days (mid 2000s)

@phungbili3 жыл бұрын
@prv I think both Odissi and Mohiniattam are flowy. I love the way the body sways in Odissi.
@prateechi83983 жыл бұрын
@prv Hi! So, the torso movement in Odissi is crucial! It gives it its circular structure. Mohiniattam is equally flowy. But the technique of the flow is different. This is also why Odissi is known to be one of the most sensual dance forms! Furthermore, Odissi has no lines. Everything is always bent at all times. The nature of the dance form is to flow from one (sculpturesque) position to another. But the direction/technique is different from Mohiniattam. And despite their similarities, they are also poles apart as dance forms. There are a multitude of differences between them. (Sorry, I had to. Triggered the Odissi dancer in me. 🤭)
