First I must compliment you recycling and repurposing. You have given me so many easy idea’s and formats . I just started a new project. My aunt/godmother had kept handkerchiefs,doilies and table runners that were my maternal grandmother’s . I am cutting them up and using my aunt’s picture frames that she insisted that I take when they were selling the family homestead. Using mod podge I am able to gift all 8 of her grandchildren with something that was hers and repurpose the frames. Thank you for the making all your videos so easy to follow 💕

Very interesting comparison of techniques. Thanks for sharing. When I bought some of your labels in autumn last year, I tried out some techniques, but only on sanded wood and on wood painted with some undefined paint (meant to be a toning paint for in latex or acrylic wall paint) I wasn't satisfied with the results. Rubbing of the paper needs a lot of practice it seems at the mod podge or acrylic method. That time I didn't have the right ingredients to make my own chalk paint. Now I have. So I should give it another try. I don't have much free time these days. I noticed that you already have more than 50K subscribers. My congratulations. 100K till the end of summer? You deserve them for sure.

I spent several years as a Laser printer repair person and would advise not using label or wax paper in your printer. Note that a Laser printer reaches temps well above that of the melting point of the wax or label paper coating. Sure you may get away with it as it does not spend too much time under the heat element. However, you could end up with accumulation issues and/or if a jam occurs the paper will sit under the hot element long enough to become an issue. Not worth it if you value your printer. There is a laser printer transfer paper out there on YT.

Hello. I love your videos, you do such a great job. I have a question. I tried the reverse transfer method on an old stool that I chalk painted teal. I left the transfer overnight and removed it the next morning. The paper cam.off easily however the glue still shows, mostly and outline of the page. What have I done wrong? Thank you.
@OurUpcycledLife2 жыл бұрын
It can be tricky doing it on colored paint as Mod Podge doesn't completely dry transparent. If you are seeing lots you probably put on too much mod podge. You just need a very light coat. You can also go back over the outline with the blue color to blend more. Hope that helps
@sharonfox96702 жыл бұрын

Well, I have yet to get this to work 9:46. I think I may have to let that paper soak a bit more. I'm new to transfers, so we'll see ;) I might be a bit too aggressive in pressure. I'm going to let a wet sponge sit on top of it for 15 minutes to see if I can get that paper to easily come off.

Hello tried the transfer method with mod podge. It worked great. Except some of my letters and roses rubbed off. What can I do to prevent this next time?
@OurUpcycledLife Жыл бұрын
This technique is never perfect and there’s always going to be a little bit centre going to rub off. It’s also gonna make a difference if you’re using an inkjet printer as it doesn’t work as well.

I have watched many of the videos of you decoupaging and I felt like it should be fairly simple, however, I can't master it or even come close. Please help! Lol I'm using a bare piece of wood from the craft store to make a sign. I have lightly sanded, wiped and then painted with chalk paint. I put a light coat of the mod podge on the paper then transferred it to the board. I let it sit over night and then tried to take it off the way I see you do it but the words come with it. Any suggestions? Also the mod podge is probably a few years old. Does that matter? It looks fine so I used it. Thanks for any help 😀
