All the methods worked great! My favorite is the"scraper" method. It's just the look I'm trying to produce on the pool sign I'm making for some friends. Thank you for the idea!

They all look great. I'm a perfectionist with anything that I make to sell and it's a 'curse'. It's taken the joy away from making things to sell, because I strive for perfection....but, I'm moving into the rustic, farmhouse style genre because it doesn't matter if something doesn't have a perfect finish. Perfection is impossible, we're just creating unnecessary stress trying to achieve it. I don't want to distress something so much that it looks like it needs painting again, but I'm happier with the thought of distressing a little x
