In airsoft we've slowly been moving away from measuring FPS to measuring joules - most AceTech chronographs can measure joules. Is this something that might help the nerf community now that different dart weights are becoming more popular.
@kaithenatureguy96355 ай бұрын
You can use those chronos four nerf Just put the millimeter at 12.7 And the weight of the dart and boom
@stevenpeven258 Жыл бұрын
Not had a chance to try them myself, but this basically confirms what I’ve seen that the three dart weights can really be useful for different fps capped events without needing to modify a blaster quite as much. Assuming you use the standard darts as a baseline and the blaster in question wants to play ball with all of them.

13:43 it wouldn't be an issue because the energy would be the same.
@CaptainXavier Жыл бұрын
It wouldn't be an issue if events measured the joules of your dart on impact. But most don't. They measure FPS.

This is another reason why games, wether airsoft or nerf, really should be measured by Jules, not by FPS, FPS does not mean force imparted on target
@thegreatsaxtonian Жыл бұрын
I feel like the biggest challenge would be finding enough men called Jules or Julian to be willing targets to tell how hard the shots were

I’d be very interested to see how the different material heads, plus the additional weight, will affect impact force. I understand why FPS caps can be good for competitive gameplay, in terms of dodging and reaction times etc. However, for something like HVZ where we have FPS caps to protect the zombie players, we need to be aware that firmer heads with more mass at the same FPS may hurt more

Worker changed the gen 3 dart body lengths after issues started rising with them and nightingale mags. The newer ones are a couple mm shorter to feed better with nightingale mags

Would you assume that the heavier darts would also maintain the same speed for a longer period of time than the orange tips?

I actually think the heavy darts will get more use than the lighter darts in comp play. We've reached the point in blaster technology where the blasters themselves are not the limiting factor. So theoretically you could tune your blaster to be over the fps cap with regular darts but just under it with heavy darts. That way you get the benefits of heavier darts for more momentum/energy while still maintaining the same fps.

The shorter length darts are great because you can double stack them in a standard mag and it will just double fire in a bunch of different blasters like Mark3 and Nexus.

Hi captain can u tell me which worker darts are best for MK-4 i having a hard time to find dart zone darts in indonesia 😅 thank u so much before
@DarthTater5738 Жыл бұрын
Since all the darts are from the same blaster they will have the same energy. But lighter ones will give you slightly longer effective range and heavier ones will give you accuracy, especially in windy conditions.
@FoamFlinger052311 ай бұрын
I think u need 3 same blasters,with 3 different spring set to make these 3 type of darts reach the same fps,like test these 3 type darts at 140fps or 150fps or even higher,then will the difference be shown.

I definitely can agree with all the concerns, heck even within Australia we experience different performance on the same blaster in two different states (found that out myself). If the group provides the darts then I see no issue with someone been over/under performing as everyone’s on the same plain, hoooowever if it’s a group that’s BYO on darts, a good suggestion would be instead of fps cap, do a Joules cap. I only suggest that as nowadays some chronographs people use are airsoft/gelball therefore do read joules, some even can be adjusted to the diameters and weight of these darts, therefore no matter what darts they use, they can’t pass the joules cap (atm experimenting with my local milsim group).

I still love the Worker Gen 3 Bamboos on average. All around a great dart. Above 250 not as much fps impact, but accurate.

Worker makes and sells two different lengths of the older darts. You probably got a bunch of both lengths mixed together from different wars.

IF this were to be more of a hard hyper scientific test, each of these would need to be put through the same blaster with the exact same spring, same plunger, attached and clamped down to a stationary sled, in an indoor range 75 feet in length, and with no difference in what mag is used.
