Have you ever tried grilled lettuce? Just cut romaine in half and grill the cut side. It could actually be a side dish all its own. Add a balsamic glaze or perhaps some nooch and garlic. Quite good! Love your ideas! Thanks!

love your ideas. For more lettuce ideas, we always add leafy greens to our daily smoothies. This would be romaine leaves, kale, spinach mostly. We also always use them as a 'bed' for our nourish bowls -- that way all the different dressings sit on the leaves making them a treat.

You're the first vlogger I've seen who takes the strawberry tops off the same way I do! There's so much less berry wasted when you don't just slice off the top, but hull the center instead. Thanks.. that was enough to make me subscribe😍🍓🍓
@LetsEatPlants2 жыл бұрын
Hahahaha, thanks Laurel! I am actually surprised you're the first person who mentioned it! 😂😂 That drives me crazy when I see people cut the tops off the other way and waste nearly half the strawberry. 😆 Strawberries are too precious (expensive) for that. LOL. 🍓🍓🍓

Great video - I love food prep rather than set meals 🥰I'm also addicted to hot and cold hibiscus tea. For lettuce I cut some Romaine into 1/4 inch shreds and the lay that on the bottom of my plate then I will add a hot rice, quinoa or potato dish on top. The hot food on top of the crispy cold lettuce is a nice combination. I will sometimes add some finely sliced cucumber and tomatoes to the bed of lettuce and add some lime juice and then add my rice or potato or quinoa dish.

Thank you! Yes, I find this way of batch prepping much easier and leaves some room for eating whatever I'm "in the mood for" each day. 😆😆 Your dish sounds delicious! I love the hot and cold combo too.

As far as using lettuce, we've been making tostadas a lot lately. Just refried beans (fat free from Trader Joe's), lettuce, tomato, green onion and taco sauce or salsa. We bake corn tortillas in the toaster oven, oil free for the base. Tasty and filling!

Thank you soooo much for sharing those good ideas. Especially the granola just made it great. Quick question: those containers with the celery and the granola where do you get those. The shape is perfect!!!
@LetsEatPlants2 жыл бұрын
You're so welcome Terry! Oooh, yes, good question about those containers. I got them from my mother-in-law. I have looked up the brand and they are Ball brand, but I can't seem to find them on Amazon. I remember she also had some that were Ziploc brand. I believe they are called Twist Top or Twist & Lock containers in 32 oz. size. Also great for storing soup!! 🤩🤩

How do u dry ur vegetables? Mine always stay damp even after spreading them on a towel, any tips? Will try the sweet potato & chia pudding recipe. Thanks for sharing:)
@LetsEatPlants2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome! 🤗 For drying, it depends on the vegetable. The lettuce for example as you can see I don’t fully dry it as I haven’t found that this small amount of moisture has affected it staying fresh. But you could also use a salad spinner if you do want it very dry. Other veggies like cauliflower I just let dry in the drying basket or use a tea towel if needed. Also I usually let veggies sit in their tupperware while I’m finishing the prep so that helps them dry off as well. 😄😄
