I’m a school librarian and I’m currently reading the book to my 4th graders. I plan on showing them the movie once we finish. I love to see the representation this book and film offers and hoping the students will get more insight and empathy for their disabled peers.

This was my favorite book as a kid, I'm so excited for it to be a movie!

Just finished watching the movie! Absolutely wonderful - I cried and raged in all the right places. I'd kind of forgotten how angry the book made me sometimes, knowing that this still goes on. Always a great reminder of why I'm in my field! I hope I can be a Katherine to lots of people!

When I first read this book in fourth grade, and the pink wheelchair part came, the class looked at me with smiles. I've read it so many times and I relate to Melody so much. I have muscular dystrophy and I have almost the same experiences as her, although I can talk

Thank you Diseny for always having our special needs kids a chance I was born with epilepsy I'm good now but back in grade school it was bad so I was put in special Ed and they always said no he can't do anything he's stupid etc etc but now I work I got honor roll I'm a role model of my town I was employee of the month and everybody loves me so if you have disabilities and people say you can't do anything just go to there face and say watch me and walk away because there just trying to pick on you so just be yourself that's it

Stop logging me out of my TVs. I have two TVs in my bedroom. I have a phone. I have a tv in my living room. One in my family room. My boys have TVs. And phones. My husband has a phone. I have an iPad. Stop telling me this is a different household. You’re making this streaming service so exhausting that I’m ready to cancel bc it’s too much work to log in. Get with it Disney. Realize people have televisions in every room bc it’s the only thing on sale at a good price that also has value for Black Fridays.

Thank you for including people like me in movies now!!! Back in the 2000’s I was being mistreated because of my down syndrome, they told me to do things that seemed very inappropriate and disgusting. But watching Disney made me realize that I’m proud to be myself and always treat people with kindness. And now I’m a down syndrome actor that starred in big shows like orange is the new black, Chicago Med. And in a Netflix movie called Metal Lords and a new horror/ thriller movie on Amazon Prime called Last Straw. I am proud to say that I am thankful that Disney is doing this now!! I’m proud to call myself an actor!!!
