Very nice to see the app in use by someone who can actually play a piano. Subscribed.

Beautiful! Where's the backing strings track running? Synced via Ableton Link?
@juliagjertsen2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, Ableton synced via Ableton Link where I triggered flute and synth sample :)

@@juliagjertsen Absolutely wonderful music. Sorry for asking some setup questions (i m thinking about getting loopy pro too, but only have a Windows Laptop with Ableton and many VSTs. And no Ipad yet.): When you use Ableton and Loopy at the same time, you have to use 2 separate audiointerfaces, 1 for the ipad, 1 for your Mac/PC, right? Thus your Ableton-Audio-Output gets inside the Ipad-Interface to feed Loopy Pro with additional sounds, and somehow Ableton is in sync? Is it possible to use LoopyPro-Loops AND control Ableton via some sort of LoopyPro"Dummy"Loops at the same time? hmm complicated stuff, but awesome sound! EDIT: sorry, yet another question, haha - what microphones do you use? I have a piano too, but with my Zoom H6 mics i really dont get that intimate awesome sound you have

@@sternenherz Hi, thank you so much! Yes, I used two audio interfaces for that purpose. Antelope Zen Tour which was connected to my Macbook (where I use Ableton), and the Steinberg UR 44 was connected to my iPad so that I could send the output from Antelope into Steinberg, and the output from Steinberg into Antelope (to Ableton). I use Antelope’s rerouting system to send the input signal from the mics that are recording piano into inputs on my Steinberg UR44. So I basically send sound from my main audio interface (Antelope) into iPad in order to loop, and then back again so that it goes into Ableton. Here is a picture showing how everything is connected, hope that helps: drive.google.com/file/d/14EO2wPqSEH2baPYdD-pCS0GoFRzSl--G/view?usp=sharing I use Ableton Link to get the tempo sync between Loopy Pro and Ableton. The mics that I am using is Oktava MK 012. It is good mics, but it is the preamps on my audio interface (Antelope) that give that intimate "near" kind of sound from the piano. Let me know if you have any more questions about the setup :) It is important to have an audio interface which supports iOS, if you are going to get one for iPad.

@@juliagjertsen Wow, thanks so much for the detailed answer! Even a audio routing picture, how nice! So i think your "main out" signal comes out of Ableton+ Antelope. Do you record songs this way, too? Seems like loopypro almost is like a Plugin to ableton, and recording takes place in ableton. Sadly i could not do this kind of routing, i m not sure if my RME babyface can do it, maybe with Spdif/ADAT expansion. Your Antelope Interface, does it sound like this out of the box (just mic preamps) or you have one of their Fx plugins in the mixer active, like compressor or whatever. Interface internal Plug-ins, they have awesome zero latency! But with DAW VST vocal plugins i have bad experience, e.g. when i tried to apply simple pitch shifting with a plugin in Ableton on my live vocals... that latency gets far too much for live looping! I wonder how good the latency is with heavy vocal effect plugin usage for Loopy pro. I only had the chance to test loopy pro with a very old iPhone, but it already made quite some fun and is very intuitive. I still wonder if the step away from Ableton will be worth it, i will have to test it! how is your experience with that? Was the step to "complicate" the audio routing with the additional equipment worth it for you? :) what are your favorite aspects of loopypro? For me it s the awesome Donut overview, and the audio-quantisation feels so tight.

@@sternenherz Hi. Sorry for the late reply here. Yes, my Antelope is the main source for recording. I did record everything into Ableton. I haven't had any big issues with latency with that set-up. I think you could get the same result without Antelope, but by using a mixer if you have one. You would still need an additional audio interace that supports iOS. But it all comes down to what is your purpose of using Ableton together with Loopy Pro. Don't know about the iPhone, but if you use Loopy Pro on iPad you could also download AUM (apps.apple.com/us/app/aum-audio-mixer/id1055636344) and use it together with Loopy Pro which could substitute many of the functions from Ableton, that would simplify things. You could add effect there, and record into AUM. I loved Loopy Pro, but I haven't used it much in my set-up lately, I definitely should use it more! So many possibillities, and it is fun.
