Hello, thanks for your time and video. In a nutshell, has loopy pro got on board features, including an effects processor et cetera? I’ve actually got Loopy HD and again, is loopy pro in a nutshell, the same as loopy HD with added features is that all the differences? I’m sure it sounds good, I’m wondering, if projects created on either loopy HD or loopy pro, if projects could be imported into recording packages, including Logic pro et cetera?

Hi Max. I think you may be my "go to" guy. I am ready to move towards Loopy Pro after a couple of years with a Levato 8 bank Looper. I feel lost. I would like to have the capability to loop off of a mic (or two) two guitars and was considering a keyboard but the audio interface option is not being understood. I do not understand the capability of a @ X 2 audio interface. Can I use two mics plus another two instruments in a 2 X 2 ? Thanks in advance. I am looking over your course details as well. Cheers

Hi! So, you want 2 audio inputs for guitar and 2 audio inputs (because it's stereo) for a keyboard. In this case, you need 4 input audio interface. However, you can connect MIDI keyboard over the MIDI port and use virtual instrument to generate the sound. But you need an audio interface that has MIDI port :) I hope my explonation is not overcomplicated 😅

Hey man thanks so much for your content! Question: I cannot hear the Metronome in my headphones. I am using an older audiobox interface that has its own headphones jack. I got the powered USB to lightning adapter you suggested to hook my phone up to the interface. The Metronome just plays right out of my iPhone speaker so that interferes with any recordings I make through the microphone I have hooked up to the interface
@max_yar_guitar9 ай бұрын
Hey! Are you sure that the interface was used for the audio recordings? You can hear them in the headphones hooked up to the interface? If so, then in the System Settings (top right corner) you have Multiroute Audio OFF. Then go to the metronome settings (top right corner; tap on the current tempo or ---) > gears icon > Metronome > Choose the right output channels (it depends on your interface)

Hello Max, thank you for the great content. I have a problem with loopy pro, I thought maybe you can help me: I tried connecting my iphone 15 pro max with spark 40 amp, which works almost as a processor. I purchased loopy pro and tried it for the first time and I realized, that the recorded sound from my electric guitar was distorted in a bad way with a lot of noise. I tried reconnecting the usb c port of the spark repeatedly and the problem was sometimes solved and sometimes not. It seems like some sort of feedback exists that ruins the sound. I tried changing the buffer size in the loopy settings, but that also didn't work. It seems a bit buggy. Do you have a clue, what the problem might be? I also tried turning off my Siri, but it also only partially helped.

Connecting a guitar processor through a sound card is similar to connecting any other interface. First, make sure your iPad recognizes your processor as an interface. @max_yar_guitar8 күн бұрын
To adjust the mic gain, check your settings, as all modern Apple devices have multiple microphones, letting you choose which one works best for your setup. In Loopy Pro, open the mixer, find the input channel, and pick the mic that sounds best to you. If you’re noticing constant background noise, I recommend using the Brusfri plugin, which does an excellent job at reducing noise. You can apply it to your input channel to filter out any unwanted sounds

Would there be a way to use this with an electric guitar? With amp or w/o amp
@max_yar_guitar6 ай бұрын
Absolutely! You can use Loopy Pro with an electric guitar, both with and without an amp. If you prefer to play without an amp, you can connect your guitar directly to your device using a suitable audio interface This setup allows you to use some amp sim app inside Loopy Pro (Tonestack Pro, BYOD, Bias, Amplitube, ...) If you're using an amp, you can mic the amp and connect the microphone to your audio interface, or use a line output from the amp if it has one. This way, you can capture the sound of your guitar through the amp, incorporating the amp’s tonal characteristics into your loops and recordings in Loopy Pro I am thinking about making

Hi! 1 Try to find a quiet place to record 2 Try to place a phone 10-15 cm from your guitar. Place it in front of the 12-14 fret. But it's not a rule, it's just a great position to start. You could experiment here 3 Open the mixer > Input channel > Mic icon > Microphone selection. To my ears, the Bottom mic is the best, but you can try each of them 4 Currently I test the Brusfri plugin for reducing the noise. It seems like it works pretty well! @@max_yar_guitar Thank you - I have tried to load wav files into launchpad for ios via blocswave but the sound quality is not good (compressed?) I thought the lauchpad for ios would allow me to use my scenes in an interactive way while performing, Sound quality and getting sound in are the big issues. So after your inspiring video ----- I am going to get Loopy pro and use my H2n Zoom mic with camera connector as you suggest. Essentially, I am looking for a portable version of what I can produce in Ableton and perform using launchpad . It needs to be portable and rechargeable (no computer) It looks like Loopy Pro can handle this (saw tasty pixel video) and allow live looping to augment this process? I have had big problems with Apple - getting audio into my ipad from my PC . ive ordered the camera connector and will trial the Loopy pro and then buy it. Ps will Loopy HD still work or is it not worth bothering with anymore. Seems very primitive now. DO you use pre- recorded loops as well or is everything you do - all done live ? Thanks very much for your excellent videos

Sorry, can't say anything about the sound quality. I don't know the specifics of your workflow, but maybe this man could inspire you if we are talking about Ableton www.youtube.com/@andrewtasselmyer2436 No, I don't use any pre-recorded loops. Too lazy for this 😄 All done live I don't think you need Loopy HD since there is a Loopy Pro Thanks! ✨

@@max_yar_guitar Thank you - very helpful. Im thinking of using simple wave files like a drum brush beat (simple) and the n looping on top of that . Although I am impressed with the range of percussive sounds u can produce . so maybe not needed - cheers

Doesn't Bluetooth latency bother you while you playing?

For me it doesn't make sense to record loops this way, it's more comfortable with any DAW. What a looper can do is to play live and create directly the loops live so that people can see that you are playing everything yourself and it's not playback. But here comes my problem, how to do it live without headphones, because the sound of the loops goes back into the microphone when recording new loops.

If you use an acoustic guitar, you need a pickup system, that is not so sensible to outer sound. Under saddle piezo pickup (this is like an industry standard) or magnetic pickup. Or you could use an internal microphone (like in the Maton guitars or K&K trinity system or Fishman rare blend earth), but you should cover it with the feedback buster So, it's a basic setup if you'd like to play on stage anyway. To avoid feedback problems. Even if you don't use looper :)
