It was interesting how the 75 Monte Carlo was optioned. It was the upmarket Landau, and those were the standard Landau wheels. (In 1974 GM ran out of Landau wheels so they gave a credit for not having them & then usually put wire wheel covers on them + charged for them.) Bumper guards but no bumper rub strips. Tilt wheel. Crank windows. I believe the front seat was an option upgrade. it's like individual bench seats but the seat part is not shared between driver + passenger. The remote sport mirrors were part of the Landau package. I know, all useless information!

I'm glad you shared your very accurate knowledge of Ladau pkg. standard options. I have a very original low mileage 76 Landau equipped just like the brochure states.with bench seat. 60/40 recliner was optional. I have 3 parts cars ,One is a very original 77 Landau with plain chrome bumpers? Maybe dealer delete option order car?

@@richceglinski7543 I'm no expert but I worked at a Chevy dealer during this time + one of my jobs was checking vehicles dropped off by Anchor Motor Freight for any damages. So I got to see what was on the window stickers. During 1973 1974 Monte Carlos were in demand. My dealer had it's own leasing company, so he could order new Monte Carlos as a "leased" car. And he loaded them with as many options as he could because he knew they would sell. GM back them loved the options as people kept adding them on when ordering a car. The Monte came standard with plain bumpers. You could order the impact strip front and rear, also bumper guards F & R. It was rare to see a standard Monte without a vinyl roof back then. The landau had the 1/2 roof standard. The Landau sold very well as people wanted those little extras the Landau offered. Out Montes and Chevelles came from either Baltimore MD or Oshawa Canada. Boy have times changed!

Most of the full size Pontiacs in 1970 had a 400. My guess is that this car was a 400 2 bbl. My family had two 1970 Catalina's, both were 400 2 bbl. First time I seen a 1970 Pontiac hood opened up that way. The whole front clip on the 73 Malibu wagon looked straighter than the Monte Carlo.

On your next recovery video or auction video when you buy a car or cars, can you try and film the undercarriage, frame floors etc. Always curious to see how bad they are sitting where they've been for decades. Great video as usual, keep up the good work.

Rear plastic filler panels on the Monte look real good, those have yet to be reproduced, too bad the dash wasn't cracked it has some good parts and sheet metal on it. The Datsun wagon appears low mile with the original tires on it, perhaps had an electrical issue and parked. That one was a real good score!

Norge (Rules with George) appliances were produced until 1974 under that name and then absorbed by several other larger groups until they eventually became a part of Maytag. One plant was located in Muskegon, Ml... I had several aquaintances who were employed there on occasion.

There is 1 item these guys need in their kit. It would make their lives a lot easier and cut the time needed to pull and load a car in half for sure! You can buy or make one? Chainsaw winch! They are light, powerful and portable. They can be attached to any tree or solid point in minutes and it would keep their trucks and trailers out of the nasty stuff.

When you need the transmission and don't care about the rest of the vehicle, you take your loader and tip the car on its side and take the transmission out while standing up. Lots more comfortable working while standing than laying on your back in the dirt and leaves.

The 73 Chevelle front clip is probably worth 800 to 1,000 if complete and not terribly Rusty. The 70 Catalina should be a 400 but could be a 428 or a 455. You need a rake to clean off the nest and see what it is. The fan shroud on the Catalina is probably the same as a 1969 - 70 GTO and would be quite valuable. And it probably has a nice big Harrison 4 row radiator. I'd also look under the back end of that Catalina for a 12-bolt rear end. And a turbo Hydro 400 transmission would be a nice score. I would have hauled out the Chevelle Wagon and the Catalina before I took the Monte Carlo or the Datsun wagon. Much better value in those two.
