I remember when I was a young kid, during bath time when nobody could see me or judge me, I tried my hardest to press my fingers together and stop time. Because I was *convinced* I was an alien, too. Even though both of my parents lived with me and I had no evidence that I might be an alien at all. I just was. But as a teenager, I watched 7th Heaven and Even Stevens and somehow never, ever connected Evie dating Matt Camden or Donna raising Donnie, Ren, and Louis. It wasn't until KZbin that I put it together and I wondered how one goes from trying to stop time because she's an alien like Evie to forgetting what the stars of Out of this World looked like. It's sad what people can forget.

Two things got me watching 7th Heaven--the fact that its two stars were guest stars from Star Trek movies, and the fact that I adored Maureen Flanagan (still do!!).

This series lasted a lot longer than I thought! I should complain to my old TV station that they shortchanged me of a couple of seasons worth of a nice show that I was watching! :P
@MoniqueFromPlymouth6 жыл бұрын
What helped "Out of This World" run for four seasons was most of the TV stations that were NBC affiliates, who bought the show in first-run syndication, scheduled it on Thursdays at 7:30PM, making it the lead-in for The Cosby Show.

I didn't get to watch Out Of This World that much when it was first on television. In Philadelphia, where I grew up, I remember that it aired on Saturday nights on WPHL-TV, PHL-17. I also remember the show airing on weekends on WWOR Channel 9 from New York, which back at that time you could pick up that station on cable.

I remember watching this on TV around 1992 time, would have been a few years old even then. Our American cousins were kind enough to sell the TV company some old episodes. But give us a chance here in the U.K. we only got electricity in 1980, y'all! ;-)
@richardson.14244 жыл бұрын
TV was so simple back in the 80's. It was easy to connect with a show because 9 times out of ten, your favorites from one series would become a parts of other series'.

well there are some extremely high quality cable tv shows now but majority tv's garbage, I mean we have shows where folks just walk around with night vision or are on tv because their dad was on tv, you almost feel like a voyeur now, its madness! There are some great shows on tv now but only for the older audience I think, nothing really for kids or seniors. No golden girls or matlock, no family matters or growing pains etc. there used to be a ton, but epic shows for the 20-40ish crowds for sure

I had never seen this show before. For some reason, in New Brunswick (or at least my area) we didn't get it. I have, however, read some of the episodes from this, and I was wondering something. How come most of the seasons start off with Evie's birthday? Also, in the credits, it says she was born in 1974. I was also born in 1974. I was just thinking, was Evie born like in January of 1974. I read that the actress who played her was born on December 30, 1973.

Her father is visiting earth and he wants to take evie on a trip to see his home planet. But at the last moment donna gets trapped inside the "spacecraft", transporting donna into space and leaving evie all alone on earth. So this was a typically cliffhanger ending, obviously the producers thought they would get a go for another season. I could upload the ending, if you want ;)
