Liz Lemon Actually you're right. Disney back in time was dark and the first part of this song was basically Quasimodo being held captive by Frollo due to his appearance being a freak and everyone will see him as a monster which you can't help but feel bad. Rapunzel was imprisoned in a tower all of her life by Gothel but that was only because of her magic hair.

Song makes me cry everytime. Reminds me of the "friends" I grew up with. Always made me feel low. But I was a kid with low self esteem and didn't know any better. They'd always put me down and id smile back a nervous smile. Hiding my true emotions. Sighs... they used to call me ugly and other hurtful words. I hated it An adult now and realize how cruel they were even more so. I only have maybe 2 close friends now.

Us the victims that were locked in teased. Day after day and possibly year after year. That kind of pain never really goes away! Yair I don't know if you're a Church going person or not? I am and I firmly believe that it was only because of my relationship with my Lord And My Savior that I made though some of the darkest times in my life! The power of prayer my friend the power of prayer! I won't lie to you from time to time I'm still after all this time haunted by my past. Who knew that Disney would make a movie about me and the kind of life I've lived my whole. Back 1996. I know that I sure didn't at the time. Even though I was sixteen at the time this movie came out. Something about the song Out There. The song the words moved me deeply. Even as the song began I knew that I was going to cry and indeed I did! And I still do to this day just about every time I hear this song. I know how Quasimodo feels. Even now as an adult that feeling has never really gone away. I wouldn't wish the feelings I gave inside of me in anyone. Nor would I wish the thoughts I have on anyone. No one should have to feel like an outcast. And yet I am one. Looking back to when I read a kid I've always been an outcast! Anna as one I say to all out there thst feel the same way as me. How Great truly Great it would be if we lived in a world where we the ones that are a little bit different from all the others. Whether it's on the inside,or the outside, or if our minds are a little slower then everyone else's. We should be treated the same as every one else out there! Just like the song GIVE ME JUST ONE DAY TO HOLD FOREVER. Just one to life, be like, every one else. After that I don't care. Because I'll have had one day out there!! And some day when my end comes I can look back at that one and smile. And I can think my Lord and my God for that one day! God Bless The Outcasts!

As a person who has been homeschooled most their life and has no siblings and who’s parents work a lot, I can relate A LOT to Quasimodo. Being alone isn’t fun. This is a movie and song that I grew up with, and I still think about it at the age of 29 ( and cry sometimes 😢 ). This is certainly a man with no freedom 😔😢, and if the hunchback lived, I wouldn’t mind meeting him, because I would certainly give him a chance. That’s why they say that looks shouldn’t matter. ( Matthew 7:1, " Judge ye not, least ye be judged "; John 7:24: " Judge not by outward appearances, but rather judge according to righteous judgment " ). In the Book, it speaks of judging people only by their character ( actions, reactions, how they treat others, etc. ), not by how they look ( skin color, body shape, etc. ).

Though I am not physically disabled or differently formed in any way, I see people who are more “obviously disabled” than I. To me this sentiment of being grateful for just “one day” is absolutely heartbreaking and cruel. I see them work minimum wage jobs alongside me but then the employers talk about “how happy they are just to be there” like that is a good thing? They shouldn’t have to be exploited for labor to be among the general population and not be seen as nuisances! They should be allowed to just be here even if they aren’t bagging your groceries! Quasi is asking for less than the bare minimum and often that is all disabled people like us are taught to dream of!
