​@@opa-age Can confirm. Searched the web for a while until I found this game ... remember this as one of the first games I ever beat in an arcade! Must have played it a few times for sure (and a lot of coins) before beating it, but it wasn't toooo hard in the end. True feels of victory when you beat it :D And then you pass the repeat to the younger guy who's been watching you play, as is customary. Boss.

Increible juego, siempre lo recuerdo como uno de mis inicios en los arcades, no me acordaba el nombre, ni como buscarlo, derrepente un haz de luz vino a mi memoria, la palabra zone, y llegue a este video, muy groso man, jugas re zarpado. que tiempos aquellos. la pase una sola vez, y empecé con los kof, luego cerraron ese lugar y nunca más lo vi al Out Zone. saludos

@@MrMaskaman Okay cool. I am going to upload my 1cc of Shinobi this weekend and then start working on Out Zone. I heard that the Japanese ROM is harder but has more powerups and is generally regarded as superior. Is that right?

@@riggel8804 It's been a long time since I last played this game, but if I recall correctly, the difficulty depends on the set, and there's one which is more difficult than the rest. It may have changed throughout Mame versions. The Japanese region adds a cool intro and some text after defeating the final boss, that's why I chose it for my gameplay.

Thanks Pietro! It's not as difficult as it seems as you have a lot of bombs. There are some amazing gameplays out there, like for example without using bombs or without the special ball weapon. They are the true legends, not me! :)

Lo máximo que conseguí fué darle tres vueltas y quedarme al principio de la cuarta con un crédito. Intentare ponerme de nuevo pero va ser muy difícil porque no juego desde hace años. Lo grabare con la gopro. Muchas veces jugaba con un amigo a dobles estabamos tan coordinados que sabiamos como hacer en cada momento. Tambien nos quedamos al principio de la cuarta vuelta. Un saludo

+oscar torre gonzalez Hola Óscar, yo llegué a conocer a un tipo que le daba 9 vueltas, jaja. Se podía tirar el día entero allí jugando. También es cierto que después de la segunda vuelta, el juego no aumenta de dificultad, aunque creo que depende de la versión de la rom. Tiene que molar jugar a dobles a este juego, aunque no sé si duplicarán los ítems de energía que aparecen. En el canal de Replay Burners hay una partida en la que no usan bombas y otra en la que no usan el yo-yo, eso sí que son animaladas... ¡Un saludo!

This game used to fascinate me when I was about 11. Could never get very far in it, the 360 degree firing used to mess me up. Bit of let down now Iv seen the ending. Give me the Golden Axe arcade ending any day.

Its was 15 years ago and I already forgot the details. I think the ships coming randomly. But in my versiyon every loops was getting harder. In last loops every enemy fires looks like flatlines. because of the frequency. It was very difficult.

¡Hola NightShade! La verdad es que esta partida no es nada en comparación con algunas machadas que se ven por ahí, en las que no usan el arma yo-yo o bombas. Quizá algún día lo intente yo también así, jaja. Y no, no he probado el Extermination, acabo de verlo en un vídeo y tiene pinta de que me va a gustar. ¡Muchas gracias por la recomendación! Dale duro a este Out Zone, que entre el yo-yo y el uso de bombas, se hace asequible :)

I must confess that I don't really know the exact process to make the planes appear. I think you are supposed to shoot the bushes in a specific order or move your character in a particular way. I think there was a gameplay here that showed how to do it, but I can't find it right now. Your daughter has good taste, she is young but she can recognise a great game :)

+common rider Maybe you can't find a home release, but you don't need. Just look for MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulation) and you may find it to play. Rygar (tecmo) also was very cool. Maybe the coolest ever been for many people at least. Black Tiger (or bootleg Black Dragon)(capcom) as well. If you wanna find a way to get it go to CCM and look for MAME. It's been a lot time since I last played but if I remember correctly, you have to scroll the screen a little bit by walking on the right path then you can go back to the left and the bridge will appear.

Llego tarde, pero veo que ya te has dado cuenta de los cameos que hay en este juego :) Para mí este Out Zone no es solo lo mejor de Toaplan, sino posiblemente uno de los mejores arcades jamás hecho. Tiene una secuela espiritual llamada FixEight, pero no me gusta tanto, es como que perdió la frescura del primero. Los Truxton son infernales, con esos sí que no puedo. Este con el "yo-yo" y las bombas al final se hace bastante asequible a base de jugar.

They are cameo appearances from other Toaplan games. The purple creature is Pipiru, Toaplan's mascot from Zero Wing. The six plane squadron is from Flying Shark. You can also find ZIG-01 from Zero Wing and the Truxton ship.

Es un juego exclusivo arcade, nunca salió para consola. La única forma de jugarlo actualmente es a través del emulador Mame.

+au JARDIN des PLANTES et à PARIS Yes, there are many programs to record the screen, like Fraps. But I use MamePlus emulator which lets you record video. I usually record an INP, which is some kind of replay, then I play it and record the video, so I don't have to be playing and recording video at the same time.
