Hey OAAW~ What a beautiful village! Thank you for sharing your walk…. I think Stanton is my favorite for living in The Cotswolds so far - I love nearby Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water as places to see and experience. The bench in the front yard by the stream @ ~27:00 - art for the eyes and ears….🎁💖 Any idea what grows on the fence on the left side of the road @ ~30:25? To see it in bloom…! I want a fence so I can grow something like that. Climbing roses, maybe? I hope you are well and enjoying the beginning of summer.

Hi Cheryl. It is really good to hear from you. I hope you are keeping well. Stanton definitely has a unique charm about it but with so many villages to choose from it is a bit tricky for me to identify a favourite 😄. I will have a look to see if I can find out what it is but I must confess that my horticultural knowledge is rather limited... Thanks for your time on this walk, Cheryl. All the very best to you. OAAW

@@OutandaboutWalking Hey OAAW~ I thought the fence horticultural treatment interesting given how popular the wall topiaries are in the UK. The fence reminded me of them. All is well here. Our weather is a bit slow to leave spring in favor of summer. Hopefully soon…. I do so enjoy stretching my legs (out on the sofa) on a beautiful walk through the 🖼️ UK countryside with you. You do visit some fabulous places! Wishing you well.

Hi Denise. I must admit, at first I was a little dubious about posting this one because it is quite dark & somewhat gloomy (personally I love these kind of walks!) which is largely due to the early hour and overcast sky. It is reassuring to hear that you enjoyed it! Many thanks. OAAW

I hope you can bear with me saying that yet another video now joins my “favorites” list, because this does (again). You have shown my absolute favorite time of the day: the last vestiges of night are disappearing and the new day is dawning, heralded by a delightful chorus of birds. It is indeed magical- something I always watch with wonder, as it never grows old. Thank you for getting up early enough to let us experience this in the village of Stanton. As always, I enjoyed your attention to detail- plant life; the textures of wood, stone; the commemorative plaque, etc.- as well as the larger pictures of the landscape. It was pleasantly suspenseful to hear the lovely sound of flowing water around 24 minutes in but then not see from whence that sound originated for 2 more minutes! That is such a neat sound! Your walk was appreciated! P. S. Just have wondered if in the UK you were able to catch film footage of the eclipse that certain areas of the US recently experienced? We live in an area that viewed totality and it was truly amazing! Our family stood in the front yard and basically watched the entire process of twilight to midnight and back to the dawn of day in the span of four minutes! We will never forget it! (You would have made a great video of it if you had been over here). :)
@OutandaboutWalking6 ай бұрын
Hi Janet. The simple fact is that one can never have to many favourites. I still have more unpublished walks that may qualify to be homed inside your favourites list :). Sometimes the walks may be at least a few months old or more before they get aired. I actually have a video that I recorded in early December but I don’t plan to publish until towards the end of this June. There is indeed something magical & special during that time of transition from night to day which is greatly reinforced by the sound of the wildlife. Just out of interest…do you use headphones at all for these walks, only I ask this as I record the audio separately with two binaural microphones, which is very immersive when listened to through headphones or earbuds (sorry if I have asked this previously). I believe we only had a partial eclipse here which was not visible due to weather conditions. I have experienced a totality eclipse once before which if I remember correctly was around midday, it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. The awesomeness of our solar system always blows my mind whenever I think about it. Many thanks for your time once more on another walk, Janet. Have a good Tuesday. OAAW
@janetryan97796 ай бұрын
@@OutandaboutWalking I tend to agree with your philosophy of never having too many favorites! Because there are various appealing aspects to each walk, different things resonate with people about each one. You had asked before about the headphones, but I am very glad that you reminded me by asking again, as I had not thought about that in a while. I have listened to a few walks that way and what a difference it made! Save for not getting mud on my shoes, I could have sworn that I was literally walking there, as well! I am glad that your equipment allows you to record that way. That’s neat that you also once experienced a total eclipse; it truly is mind boggling, and makes one just stand there gazing in quiet awe at what is happening! Our weather in general was not cooperative that day (cloudy) but around the time of the total eclipse, the sun did peek out- just in time for us to watch the moon overshadow it. It is certainly (for most of us) a once in a lifetime experience! :) Have a great week!

Truly, some of the most beautiful homes we have seen to date, with an over abundance of beautiful light fixtures and architectural styles that span the centuries. And the reference to the WW1 War Memorial-a war that touched practically every British family. Did the wall fountains you showed have any practical purpose or when in use were they purely decorative?

Hi Arthur. How lovely to hear from you today. Glad you enjoyed this peaceful early morning walk. I don’t know for sure what the water outlets were used for but just to hazard a guess maybe they were used for drinking water many years ago. Enjoy your day. OAAW
