Lucas and Jacob react to how to videos from the 40's and 50's that are very outdated. We reacted to "1940's - Housewife School - Cooking Terms" first then we moved on to more crazy videos like "Old Commercials That Would Be "Politically Incorrect" Today". Let me know if you know where these how to videos originally aired.

Mason P-A I wouldn’t doubt it. She was forced to do HORRIBLE things. Absolutely sickening the things that her cast mates and crew got away with. I don’t know much about her personally, mostly just relating to the Wizard or Oz, but I would totally not be surprised if she did blackface.

These commercials might seem outdated, but they aren't too different from what we see today. There are a few old stereotypes that are easy to spot that have changed over time, but commercials today tend to push the same stereotypes. Society hasn't changed nearly as much as our generation might like to think it has, for better or for worst.

@Mandi W Yeah I️ definitely have a lot of nostalgia surrounding that time just because I️ was so young then and I️ associate it with my childhood, but I️ also understand the amount of progress that's been made in terms of social issues since then, especially when it comes to the social acceptance of gay and trans people.
@727Amani

@Mandi W I️ was born in 2001, so I️ didn't experience the 90s at all and the early 2000s were my really early childhood. I️ didn't grow up poor, but I️ did come from a messed up family myself. Still it was just a simpler time ig and it was also before my depression got really really bad.

If you were really good the teacher would pick you to thread the film into the projector. Fun fact: Food back then was more nutritious. The soil had more nutrients in it, so the food would then get more nutrients. That's why people didn't suffer from obesity like we do now, because now we have to eat more to get the same nutrients. Someone told me that 1 peach back then had the same amount of nutrients as 6 peaches today. Also, processed food was fairly new at that point. Today everything is processed because we want it to have a longer shelf life, so there are more GMOs to make food to gave longer shelf lives. Food was better back then.

My dad says that these videos were jokes in the 50’s ( not literally but no one took them seriously.) at least the people he hung out with. But I’m sure some people did take them seriously, which seems so crazy!
