Hahahaha Mía's "I love you" blink is so cute!!! I was not sure about the exact meaning, I thought it might mean something like "I'm sleepy, I need a nap". The "airplane wings mode" is amazing, one of my bengals usually uses it when she misbehaved, and I find out and I start to call her name: she instantly starts walking away, sneaking up and puts her ears "airplane wings mode on". I work at a daycare and sometimes cats will come by and say hello.. While making sure the kids are gentle, I always keep a very sharp eye on the tail.. They might keep a relaxed body-language, but their tail is usually the first give-away that they are becoming over-stimulated.. The second I see the tail start going, I tell the kids to look at the tail and tell them that this means the cat is done cuddling and we need to leave it alone now.. Luckily, my co-workers trust me and will help me get the kids to leave the cat alone.. I've never had any incidents where kids have been scratched or bitten.. I used to love cats and was always scratched or bitten by them, so I'm very focused on teaching kids at least the most basic signs..

I often slow blink at my cats, and one of them responds a lot and slow blinks at me a lot, the rest do it every once in a while. One of my cats actually LOVES belly rubs, he'll flop over and want his belly rubbed. I can really see the body language of one of my cats (the slow blinking one), when he's getting angry he'll sometimes do a little snort/blow air out of his nose to warn you. When he's hungry and you pet him a bunch and he kind of gets playful, he puffs up his tail a lot. It's so interesting learning about cat behaviors, having cats all your life like me you can really learn them well and communicate with your cat much easier.

Cats are happier in pairs. Two cats are not twice the work, more like the opposite. Traveling with them is the only point where it gets tricky. Good luck!

You're awesome thank you for sharing the knowledge! I didn't know about the belly, I unexpectedly got a new kitten and had to learn so much, as quickly as possible. My kitten lies like that next to me all the time, belly exposed paws against chin and stares at me and I kind of just.. go in and rub all over but he's never reacted badly to it. He would do a tiny purr or "mrrow" sound and keep jiggling in belly lol. Should I stop doing it, or I just happen to have a kitten who likes belly rubs lol? My kitten doesn't like to get touched much either but he always wants to be near me or involved, so I always pet in short bursts and he seems satisfied with that.

The most interesting thing is that cats have many ways to express surprise. Among my last crew of 5, two raised a front paw, one took a seat with his tail fully extended and tilting head, another stood on his fours while curiously curling his tail (sort of: was really characteristic). The remaining one was usually too overwhelmed by her own senses so acted silly everytime (she was a tortie: higly hyperactive!)

@@OutdoorBengal I bought the clicker and tried first stages but my cat got very scarred of the clicker, ran away! As I adopted her as an indoor cat I read that clicker training can be very stimulating for them. I have bought numerous toys that have scarred her also. I watch a lot of Galaxy Jackson utube videos and bought wands he suggested but again she so afraid of almost everything! Millie does not like effection, never comes to me when I call her. It’s like I am just there to feed her, clean the litter tray,play with her but I just don’t know what is wrong! I adopted her 2 months ago and she came from a family of husband, wife, young boy so I assume she had a good upbringing. The family moved to Finland so asked me to adopt the cat. I knew first few weeks would not be easy for her adjusting and was so focused on making her feel comfortable but she likes to stay close by about a metre away but will not sit with me, be effectionate, listen to me. Can you advise?

Hi Albert I don't understand my cat... when we get him to interact with us or play with his toys all he wants to do is hide behind something and sit in the attacking position. He spends soooo much time on that position and doesn't play most of the time!! Or gets distracted and goes away...this is really confusing me!!

What if my cat shows me its belly and starts its engine when i rub it? Also, i cant even wipe the floor in the house, as soon as i leave and they hear me outside of the apartment they start screaming and it gets louder and louder, when i let them with me, theyre running all the way down to the basement, exploring the area and constant screaming but when i go down to them, they stop. I dont get it.

Such a great question. Every cat is unique and if your cat likes belly rubs, GOOD FOR YOU! You are the envy of many, many cat parents! :) Cats are not good with dealing with closed doors. They will get very loud just to get passed a door, then they lose interest. They consider the area beyond the door to be part of their territory, which they feel the need to patrol. Giving them the freedom, reduces the anxiety.

Ok, now It’s not a comment, I have a question for which I’ve been searching an ansewer since ever 😂: Albert why on earth, if we eventually come to pet our cats on their belly without getting seriously injured, they start to lick themselves like crazy as if we had just deadly infected or dirtied them 🤦🏻‍♀️. It’s been happening to me with all cats not just bengals!

As always, there are several explanations behind this behavior: - they groom themselves 30_50% of the time, so when you pet them, you are interrupting that and they might as well continue when you stop. - Cats regard us as other cats. Large, strange looking cats, but catlike beings that are neither above nor below themselves. When you pet your cat and she then licks the same spot, it could be her way of performing mutual grooming, an act that occurs between close and loving cats. - Your touching that area makes it itch or tingle and your cat tries to sooth or quiet the itch. - Finally, and most likely, it can be scent related… they like to smell like they smell. It soothes them. It’s like our hairstyle… we all like being petted on our head but will rearrange the hair once the grooming stops ☺️

There are several reasons that can trigger aggression on cats. Hello! I haven't published that video yet but should work on it soon. I did spay Mia. I made the decision after she got her first heat. If you are not going to let your cat have a partner (and deal with bringing to the world more kittens), spaying a cat is a must. They suffer from the heat and so will the care taker :) For aftercare just try to keep the wound clean and apply some topic disinfectant to offer a protection layer. The vet will be able to share with you what are the best practices and products where you live.
