Mike I've figured out a formula for the size building you will need. After you have decided on the exact size to suit your purpose you should make it 50% larger. That way when it is all finished it will only be 25% too small......Have fun my friend.

As long as Mike builds it in a way to expand in the future, that extra 50% can be tripled and then when that's done it will only be 50% to small.

Got some more Christmas shopping done tonight on my way home from work. As for the mill, I'm sure you'll come up with something that will go up fairly simple and allow for other storage when the mill is moved out. Always enjoy your wood splitting videos. I have an outdoor wood burning furnace and it takes big wood. It takes 32 inch long wood if it does not need splitting. 8-10 inch round sticks at 32 inches is a handful to manage at times, but if we need to split it, it has to be 24 inches to fit splitter. When I see your 16 inch stuff split into kindling it looks like some of my scrap wood. Keep up good videos and say howdy to family. Central Maine Dan..

The farmers would sell me the tops for a few hundred dollars and I would work evenings and weekends cutting and splitting with a wood maul. A 150 tree tops would last me a couple of years. Anyone who has cut firewood knows what a workout it is and I attribute my good health today to challenging myself to keep right on cutting and burning firewood. I built my own log splitter from scrap 28 years ago. It's still going strong and I only have $250 invested in it. Love the RK tractors and all the equipment. Your living the dream! Have a blessed Christmas KEEP ON BUCKING Bob from Indiana

If Piper looks like Andy, Melissa had a "Woodstock" thing workin' with her hair (Snoopy's bird friend) today, after she pulled the hood back. Fantastic! Emphasized, for me, how she can't ever look bad, even when she looks like she's been dropped out of Dorothy's tornado. Beautiful, no matter what. Thing I love so much about the Morgan Clan is how genuine and honest it is, no matter what else the video content is conveying.

Hello Mike and Melissa, great video this morning, you got your firewood machinery back home and set up. That’s a great set up and you make it all work well together for your family. Sure hate to see Melissa hobbling around like that, hope she heals quickly with no problems. Don’t injure yourself any more than you have ! That’s a long walk on that hill. Will you be able to get some drone footage of your firewood system in operation when you are all down there and everything running? You have such a great set up for everything working. Thanks for sharing with us, we really look forward to seeing you all on here as you post your videos.

Hi Mike I have my Wood Mizer LT40 in one big building where I store my firewood processor, tractors and other stuff. Seemed like a good idea at the time, milling inside with lighting, out of the wind and rain. Problem is everything gets a fine layer of dust. Not the end of the world but if I was to do it again I'd keep the Mizer in a separate building. Looking forward to seeing the future projects. Happy Christmas everyone from a very wet England.

are there hydraulics missing for the radial stacking function or do you just remove pins at the axle knuckles and adjust wheels? that is obviously the reason for the ball hitch base, do wondering if it is standard or an extra option.
@WolfeRidgeSplitters
@WolfeRidgeSplitters 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Gary! Articulating hubs come standard, we use a 3/4 bolt to lock in place so it is super secure for towing down the road. Just take that bolt out and push the tire to rotate hub assembly. We do not have a hydraulic power option on radial stacking, it rolls pretty easy by hand by just pushing on top of the tires Yes, that ball plate is to allow the conveyor to pivot at the center of the splitter sorting table. You can turn the conveyor about 30 degrees in each direction to fan out the pile without having to move the splitter. Thanks! Chris

On video yesterday, you asked about thoughts for building your woodshed for the sawmill. Try a timber frame building with the length of the building open with slidi6 doors on both sides. Gives you easy access and a cross brreze. Use your own timber and wouldn't be as much out of pocket cost

Melissa I too had a foot operation (plantar wart on the ball of the foot) and how it put a hitch in my giddyup. You just have to get around so you go ahead and limp. I like your setup for splitting but my stove is an old Fisher papa bear and much of your split wood is kindling for that monster stove. I can take lengths up to 30+ inches but keep them at about 24 inches as that is the most length my splitter will split.

@@lonniechartrand I kind of figured out that the short piece of metal could be a screen (just like you said) but I didn't know what the long part of the component was for. Also, wasn't clear on the purpose of the chains, looks like they could be used for readjusting the screen component but how that works escaped me. Sure do appreciate your reply though.
