But they could’ve killed some other character like chleo or rafe it would’ve been emotional but yea we could move on from that.

I remember being 17 and watching this during covid and falling in love with the show because these kids were full of spirit. I think as I’ve grown the premise of the show has become more outlandish, but I still can’t help but watch for the friendships. That being said, JJ’s end is one of the most powerful I think I’ve seen in a show. I can’t believe it actually happened and it feels like a part of your younger goes when he does. I think this season is the best of all of them because it takes this nostalgia and turns it into something real, with consequences. Brilliant writing.

The 6th season should be Sarah and Rafe’s adventure. The way I would like to see it go is Sarah, Rafe and the rest of the gang get the royal merchant gold back, while at the same time rescuing Wheezie, and killing Rose if she tries to kill them. And that can either be where the show wraps up now that they would’ve won the battle that started in the beginning, or go on to having a 7th season where it would be Cleo’s adventure.

am grieving, jj is THE main character. And made outer banks, outer banks. It will be so difficult to go on with the last season of outer banks without him, and the thought of the whole show coming to an end. But yes i do believe season 5 will be the one of the best seasons yet. Now that we most likely will be more on the friendly side with rafe and for once have him on the pouge area. The pouges took a big loss this season not only with JJ, but also the treasure. But lets hope that we will likely having a big win in season 5. edit: And another thing. JJ should’ve been buried at home and not in the middle of the desert😭😭.

If JJ’s departure was certain, they could’ve finalized the show and made the fourth season the ending season. RN it genuinely feels like the show has lost it’s entirety purpose. Personally if I were a writer, I would make the fourth season the last season. The course would be the same, a closure to Sarah and Rafe’s bumpy relationship. Them finding the blue crown, whatsoever that is and exonerating themselves, JJ’s dad starving to death in that hole, emphasizing the point that JJ does not need blood to have people to call ‘family’ and maybe a snippet of future, Sarah and John B’s official weddin; Rafe walking with Sarah to the aisle, little JJ, their kid, being the flower kid, Pope bringing his life together and being off to college with Cleo, JJ and Kie opening their own workshop, maybe engaged. That’s the dream, and perhaps ending at the fourth season would lessen the profit, but at least most fans wouldn’t have to see their comfort character dying in a foreign country without getting a proper closure with any of his friends other than Kie.

Damn that was a terrible way to go. Hard to watch JJ die like that. I really wished JJ had a happy ending because if anyone deserved it, it was JJ. Such an amazing character. Rudy might not have been the lead but he definitely stole the show. Knocked it out the park. Outer Banks has been cutting it close with impossible miracles. Having one of the main cast members die, especially someone like JJ made it way more unpredictable. I really hope Luke gets to kill Groff. I feel like it would be a good arc to see him avenge JJ

JJ could’ve been shot on the statue, jj and kee made it out of that storm no problem at all. They could’ve grabbed a gun off the guy they knocked out. Groff’s character was also not very good, he was so obviously not who he made himself out to be. His lies were almost blatantly obvious yet everyone trusted him. Then groff kills jj after already having the crown. Then they show him having remorse over everything he did to get the crown, which is stupid because he had literally no reason to kill his son but did for revenge. And the terrible character that is groff is the one that killed jj, it’s pretty annoying. ESPECIALLY that they ended this season with implications of a new season, everything about this season is horrible. I wish they just ended it after season 3, and I’m not typically a person who says things like that

This whole season, especially the second half, felt so fan-fiction-like and badly written, and felt as if they rushed everything in the last few episodes ; JJ spent the whole season being a caricature of himself by being even more hot-tempered and unpredictable, almost ruining his character, and in his last moments saves Sarah to redeem himself as if the writers wanted to remind us "when he'll die you have to be sad because deep down he's thoughtful and nice". The last episode was also so frustrating ; JJ and Kie manage to take an armed guy down and don't take his weapon to defend themselves, especially when it's highlighted they only have "one bullet left" ? Rafe can take 2 guys in the sandstorm but cannot go after Dalia ? Kie just standing watching Groff gutting JJ ? I'm not mad they killed a main character, How To Get Away With Murder did it and it's such a great twist when it's pulled off right, which is not the case here imo. I'll defenitely watch s5 to see how it ends, but this season was a meh

Groff was such a vile and evil character but his greed and jealousy was never explained, so JJ's death seemed as meaningless as any motive for the murder. The fan's anger comes from how pointless his death was; it wasn't a sacrifice and it wasn't because he made a mistake. Now the rest of the characters are out on a kill job in season 5, which isn't what OBX is about.

Make it predictable, make it cheesy, make it unrealistic, it doesn't matter, this is a series that was supposed to be fun, fun to watch, and to forget some of our troubles, not to bring more sadness into our lives, I loved the scene, ponkow and baily did such a good job, it was sadcited exciting significant and powerful So much, but if there won't be a happy ending for everyone and he won’t return for last season it's not worth it, it doesn't have to be realistic like real life, it can be whatever you choose.

The show is already unrealistic as it is with them getting away with so much stuff and then surviving the most absurd things (Boat sinking/Falling out of boat in storm/getting shot in Bahamas/Fighting a gator) But JJ gets stabbed once and dies…. I get the hero arc and the message of “All of us bold moves finally costed him in the end” narrative but I just don’t know how the chemistry of S5 is going to go without JJ character, it’s going to feel off IMO

JJ’s death was so buns, he died from some little knife and went out nothing like his character was the whole entire series. Then the ending was just so rushed 😭, they buried his body in some random ahh place, and then the season it ends with them saying “revenge” 🤓

Newt's death was one of the most emotional death I've seen but this is just dumb. An IQ 60 person would know not to turn his back on a killer with a knife on his hand

At the start of the season me and my roommate both had theories. His was Sarah’s gonna get pregnant, mine was JJ’s going to die. I’m not saying it’s predictable writing but the fact both our theories were correct kinda speaks volumes to the writing team. No offense.

Yeah guys ik it sucks jj died and it's hard to imagine the show without him... But think about rafe and how he has come around. Rafe is played by the best actor in this show by far and it will be cool to see his transformation in season 5. We've seen sprinkles of it but I think he really comes into his own in season 5. I could see him getting his own show after the finale. He's kind of become a badass.

I was so excited when i saw Outer Banks was getting a 5th and final season bht AFTER THIS?? HOW CAN WE CARRY ON WITHOUT JJ? He was literally the heart of the group, and i just cant believe that the actor could be so heartless to leave the show in such a drastic way. JJ could have gone to Yucatan after being framed to never be seen again and only have the pogues mentioned him throughout the next season. But this?? It feels absolutely unnecessary, such a great character, such a great storyline from the beginning, only to what? Have him killed off in the last 10 minutes? Might as well had him locked up in prison, at least his character would still be alive. Absolutely unnecessary loss

I HATE the ending. I don’t understand. This season jj’s plot was so rushed this season and he never got to fully accept his life as a kook instead of thinking he as a pogue. Also can NOT believe that how it was decided to kill him off…. Like stabbing really? Everyone has gotten stabbed in that show and survived. They are gonna loose half their watchers with him gone. I’m gonna be honest. I hate all of season four. Don’t plan on watching season five.

They did JJ so dirty. All because of the real life drama between the actors. The chemistry this season with all the actors was off. Weird cuts throughout the entire season, poorly directed, poorly acted(esp during JJs death between him and Kiara), poorly written, continuity issues… I can go on.

Only issue i have is the plots are more outlandish kind of like anime and super hero series powerscale to absurdity in further seasons. Jj no matter behind the scene drama had an earned death and they didnt do his character dirty. His dad was believable in that he could kill his son in that way. And yes ill absolutely watch the next season, this saved the season as a whole.

The best characters of the show were j j and rafe. When I saw the standoff, I was concerned, I was hoping it was going to be Kie. For some reason, she has always annoyed me. I worry she will have a bigger part in Season 5, which may make the season a bit unbearable in my opion.
