It makes you really sad that their world was this beautiful, and now only a simulation of it remains... too bad we can't turn the time and tell them not to follow the eye, and let them retain this beautiful world they called home. Not for too long, but hey, beats being stuck in a simulation while the real you is dead, right? Also thanks for uploading this, I was looking for something like this all over.

Someone is making a mod where you can visit their homeworld

Perhaps it is possible to turn back the clock... but we would have to make their sun go supernova to get the energy necessary for that...

@@tumei1851 I watched someone play it, that shit is an existential crisis cosplaying as a videogame. It's pretty damn good

This ambience makes me scared and nostalgic at the same time. (Which kind of fits the inhabitants of the dreamworld, come to think of it.)

Man it always felt like the rings had some signal of their own, might just be the simulation guzzling power though

The simulation reminded me of a old game I play called SOMA. It's basically being stuck in a cyborg with a picture of a brain shoved in. The Ark however is like this. In Outer Wilds the elk could have simply settled on the planet's in the solar system instead of going no contact. In SOMA there was no choice though as the surface was destroyed by a comet. Both sims are related because both replicate a world that was lost and built by the people that lost it.

So glad I am not the only one who played both games and was reminded of SOMA. Both are absolutely amazing
