This show is partly the reason I spent three weeks of my summer holidays in Scotland. Although I didn’t get to explore the highlands - I went to Fife and the east coast-I still felt the magic of the braw land, no matter where you are, it captures you and will steal a piece of your soul. I miss it dearly and can’t wait to go back! ❤️❤️ so excited for S6, this show has EVERYTHING. Truly a wonderful story! 🥰🥰🥰

The series is actually better than the books, at least in my opinion! I stumbled across the books while sitting at Heathrow one evening waiting for my delayed flight and Diana's first book "Outlander" was saved in my phone, so I started reading and never stopped. When I finally discovered the TV series, I couldn't believe how well the story was transferred, even better than the books. I read a lot and watch less movies, usually I'm disappointed with the adaptation, but with Outlander it was the other way around. Great job by all involved!

I agree. Some part of show much better than book but I m reading them and they are good what I did not in show is how they depicted jamie he has much more personality in books and claire is too strong in show than in book

I agree with comments. Like series much better than books, and think characters are better explained in series. I didn’t understand Claire’s laughter in books in places where it was very serious and not funny. And some books bogged down with details. Liked the way they changed some things in series. I generally like books much better than movie or series also. I read outlander book so long ago didn’t quite recall all of it until end of second reading.
@09pippa3 жыл бұрын
I agree with the comments, I stumbled upon a site where you can read all the books for free and after watching the series, I find some parts of the books too descriptive and ended up just flipping through a lot of pages which were kind of boring with so much detail, sometimes unnecessary, at least for me. I think the writers did a tremendous job in condensing the books and conveying the important aspects of the main characters and their love story as well as the historical side. I think in the series Claire sometimes comes across as a 'know-it-all' which I didn't much like. Overall I find the series well directed, with amazing performances by Sam, Caitriona and Tobias. I loved that the writers kept Murtagh who is one of my favorites and I love the attention given to detail both in the wardrobe and props/set decoration for the different periods . A job well done all around, congrats

The makers of Outlander would be perfect to create an adaptation of the Earth's Children series. I suggest starting the series as Ayla and Jondalar meet and let her past be revealed as the series jumps back and forth in the timeline. Just imagine the first episode of Alya running to Jondalar's rescue and jumping in between him and the lion... People will be like whaaat... what sorcery is this? And then she is just like... "Oh its my, Baby".

Outlander is one of my all time favs. True love, and romance, vulnerability and fragility of emotions is sorely lacking in many of even the best tv series. I just wished they paced some events and locations a bit more slower. Namely lallybrock. Their time in lallybrock was too fast paced. A couple of episodes of claire really bonding with jenny and ian and family wouldve been great. Also fraser's ridge peaceful times and contruction and moving in of settlers were skipped, even one extra episode couldve really build upon the community bonds. Ian's training to be a master native warrior souldve been developed even 30minutes more. Season 7, every episode was rushed. Then teres the time travel premise with raymond, st germain and the whole concept itself is not sprinkled enough throughout the seasons.bwhich if in s8 they rush this, it will be more like romance sudden transition to scifi. But if touched on regularly in each season, it will be more cohesive to wrap up later. Outlander should easily be 9 or 10 seasons. Their main premise is the relationships of family and friends even in opposing political turmoil alongThe adventures, tragedy, and magical time or dream travel, are all great. But without enough peaceful and relationship bonding segments and sprinkling of time travel lore,the showing last s7 6 episodes and season 8 would not be very cohesive to cramp so many events into it.

I have read all of her Outlander series many many times. Jamie and Clair are my old friends, I would know them at a glance. So, when I first saw the first episode I was shocked! Jamie was ok but Clair was not, she had shrunk! She was supposed be buxen not petite. Brianna was to be almost as tall as Jamie and she wasn't. It goes on and on. I will stay with my friends and keep to the books.
@KristinHall0918 Жыл бұрын
I would hardly say Claire is "petite". I have not read the books but throughout the series she is usually much taller then any of the other females around her and usually at level with the men. Skinny yes but by no means petite.

Fans make comments on how a writer write her book, when they don’t even had one published book., these are long because the story of Claire & Jaime involved people, if it’s too long for you then you should not read & enjoy the book of historical story, read or not but don’t tell a writer how to write her story it’s her own not for you own pleasure!

Season 1-4 is really a great adaption to the books, we discover lots of thoughts and background of the story and the figures. Season 5 does not meet my taste, it is just too openly constructed. It is an adaption on to todays time, too many fingers in the cuts. Hard to describe, because the book story itsellf is very difficult to put in pieces and the decisions to make a film of this … yeah, you could make lots of films… I hope, Season 6 is not that plane and overconstructed, just a whole story in the line of Diana Gabaldons story and creative points of interpretation. There is no need, that Jamie & Claire must be like they have hard wood in the back! And Sam as an actor could be more natural, his speech in Season 5 is terrible unnaturally. Maybe because he is not a leader in real life - it may be as it is, no mistake at all - but than he must be a better actor to show that Jamie is strong and strategic in his doing or the script must have better dialogues. Just try, please! Love the story so much ♥️ and the show could be a masterpiece too, if… you know 🙏

It's a good thing that the author agrees with how her books came to life on screen. I've seen several interviews where Diana praises Ron and the producers saying they have done a fantastic job in the adaptation of her story. The intro to every single episode clearly specifies : 'Based on a series of books written by Diana Gabaldon'. (The keyword being 'based on')
