If he and caitriona especially don’t get awards for the season finale then there’s no justice but certain deadlines might rule them out but also because of co vid 19 award ceremonies wouldn’t be being held , but so agree with everything you’ve said lovely man with a heart of gold what’s not to love about that also got to love a man that gives his mum full kudos don’t you !!

If she married Lord John, No adoption but automatically Step Mother to her brother. But he was never to know that, inheritance wealth and linage was more important than the knowledge of his paternal father and half blood sister...supposed fiction here, but truth be known that happened in those days and probably in today's wealthy societies..

@@naomimaria6893 actually yes. William is the son of Geneva Dunsany. After she died William was adopted by her sister Isobel and Isobel’s husband John. That makes Lord John Williams ADOPTED father, which would make any future wife of Lord John, his stepmother via adoption.

it's only natural, for brianna her father will always be frank, and she is trying with jaimie, but jaimie is so different from frank and brianna has been raised as a modern 70's woman and jaimie no matter how much of a good man he is and even if he seems quite open minded, he is still a man of the 18 century with the mentality of that century about many things. even if bree has accepted him as father too, she will never be as close to him as she was with the man who was there during her childhood and teenage years.

@@nessyness5447 Yes, that's true, I completely agree that she can never have the same relationship with him as with Frank, he did raise her, I'm just saying that I would've liked to see a little more tender, bonding scenes between them, I feel like Jamie bonded more with Roger than with Bree lol

@@Adrimusic273 well roger has some more traditional views than bree in somethings and then in the 18 century usually me bonded more with their sons than their daughters(at least when the daughters were already in their teen years or adults) because usually they would never consider teaching a girl to hunt or shoot or to fight etc so from a certain age the genders were really separated and the relationship of the fathers with the daughter became a little more distant.

Nothing wrong with giving Jaime a hug after he just finished pouring his heart out to her. It has been 3 years and they’ve been thru alot. Plus, she’s leaving and may never see him again. The show missed a good opportunity for a little drama, and a nice moment, which they’re usually so good at.

Which he would have had if not for sending her back. I still think he could have made other arrangements. She could have stayed with Jenny. Her and her kids turned out ok. And Claire with all her knowledge would have been a big help to them, and vice versa. I even think she could have told Jenny and Ian about herself and how she came to be there, and they would have understood. But I'm a very optimistic person,and always try to think positive. But they are all together now, so that's good. But I still think Brianna has a problem with her Dad, just haven't figured out yet what it is. It wasn't like that in the books, and I just wish they would stay with the books, and so does a lot of other fans from all the comments.

Think of the time period and where they are when she finds herself pregnant with Brianna for a second . That’s lovely . I relate to this which is why drums of autumn and the fiery cross are my two faves of the series . I call my dad Da like bree trust me it’s a Celtic thing ( I’m of Irish descent with some Scots Irish mixed in )) also many family members both sides have married people of Scottish heritage and in one case Scots born woman ( mums cousin Paul ) . Love the endearments Jamie uses for her as well . But that’s the thing with Gaidhlig and gaeilge ( Irish Gaelic ) both lend themselves well to music and poetry and endearments . This might surprise you but the only thing you can’t do is swear in either as the expletives simply don’t exist curse and insult yes and that’s an art form in itself !! One Jamie is adept at !

I've read a lot of these comments and I have to say that much of what puzzles people that do not get some of the relationships is because they have not read the books! Read the damn books and all will be revealed. You must remember a lot has been left out or changed by the film writers. Personally, I prefer the books. A lot of liberties have been taken, not always for the betterment of the story as far as I'm concerned. It is very frustrating for some of us. These books are just amazing and some of the best writing I have ever read and I have read considerably more books than just her eight and her other subjects. I didn't agree with the casting of Jamie, until I had watched several episodes. Now, I can not call to mind anyone else who could have done better. Mr. Heughan is doing a superlative job!

Jamie was much bigger to me in the books. Now, I can't see anyone else other than SAM!! Have seen Sam in other roles, he is fantastic!! Can you imagine all the women fans fantasies regarding Mr. Heughan?? I can not think of any male acter who has caused so much sighing and dreaming in the.last fifty years. He just comes off (Sam) as a MAN (read the book for understanding) which is different from just being a male. It's like the difference between being a father and a Daddy.

Love the scenes of Jamie as Father to both Brianna and the son. He stepped right in & put the boy in.his place. So many boys need that true Male hand these days and so many girls still need positive Male father figure validation. Sam plays the role well. Have the feeling he may go beyond acting and represent Scotland well. Whatever awards he may not receive is inconsequential as his influence will be part of his longevity. He represents the ancestors of many and brings the decent ones to life. I have a strong Scottish line in my ancestry to the point where the prominent family made themselves known in an interesting way to us and you can see from my avatar that I'm brown skinned with kinky hair. Could not visit my Mother's home country (not Jamaica) without a summoning from the Scottish man who owned The Scottish Shop who knew all the family lines and regularly showed me the tartans. Apparently that one ancestor was against slavery. The family traits of being clannish, not liking outsiders, keeping mouth shut brings true today. Watching the show brought to life so many names that I recognize. Even among the Black descendants those groups move in tight knit clusters! I always noted the strong Scottish influence mixed in with Irish as my clan is both. There is a marriage dance that celebrates unions between the Scottish or Irish and the African women. The men do their version of their jig arms pinned to sides is Irish but if hands in the air then it's Scottish. The woman"s dance also depends on her tribe also. Africans usher in weddings with dance but slavery and mixing of tribes plus keeping identity was basically illegal so things change. Scottish bloodlines are all over the islands. My U.S. side is obviously quite different however my Grandfather from the Carolinas was known for moonshine skills and well sought after. My southern Grandmother ALWAYS stocked the most expensive Scotch which seemed to be the preferred drink among my southern relatives. Sam will go far as some sort of statesman or humanitarian as the intelligence shines through. He carries the spirit of Scotland in the best way. Be well Sam.

The script writers and casting crew took a beautiful diamond and turned it into a cubic zirconium! I haven't watched ths series but have read the books. I've watched a few scenes and am highly disappointed. The scene where Bree, Roger and Jemmy return through the stones is wrong. Not sure what reason they gave for them going back but in the books they return because they have an infant daughter with a heart defect who needs modern day surgery to survive. So four people go through the stones. Can't believe how they've mucked up the plot in other ways as well. You must read the books. Jaime and Brianna have a wonderful relationship in the novels and there are so many great characters they just completely wrote out of the story. The opposite of Cinderella, the producers went from riches to rags!

One thing thats confused me is that in the first episode when Claire is talking to the witch who is very confused about her husband lines (she has 2 meaning 2 husbands but there is no break in the lines indicating that there's no break during the marriages), she also mentions that her husbands won't stray from her. If that's true, how is it possible that both Frank and Jamie had affairs?
@mickeymousey4444
@mickeymousey4444 3 жыл бұрын
Well the one with Frank is easy, they both discussed seeing other people while still married and Claire knew about Frank's girlfriend from the beginning. As for Jamie, she believed that she would never see him again after she went back, because she believed he died at Culloden, sooo....? I have no idea about Jamie, but i believe that Frank never cheated if Claire knew and accepted it. But don't hold me to any of what I just said, its just a theory lol.

It pisses me off everytime Jamie says "when your mother left me", like she left on her own accord. He sent her back. I also wonder what Claire really thought about him having a son, not good I'll bet. They only talked about the blackmail part which sounded ridicious to me. An 18 year old girl blackmailing James Fraser, and spending the whole night with her. So that whole scenario pissed me off as well. As well as him having sex with that Mary person who worked for Jenny. Never did get that, made no sense to me whatsoever, and last but certainly not least him marrying Leery the witch that tried to have Claire killed, which he knew about. At first I didn't think he knew, but from the comments on my tablet, I guess he did, and that made it worse. So he didn't burn for Claire for 20 years like he said, did he. I also don't like the way they're rushing the story. All the info he gave Brianna in this clip happened later. Sorry, guys this is one of my complaining comments and I have another one. The rape and torture of Jamie and Claire. DIGUSTING. Plus the fact that Claires acting got all this adulation for how many days!, while Jamie got next to nothing for 2 episodes. That really doesn't sound very fair does it. And I hope they don't harp on it the entire season 6. I'm tired of everything happening to Jamie and Claire which it will again in season 6 from what I've read. Jamie and Claire both are accused of something they didn't do. So I'm pretty fed up with this show. Don't know if I will watch it anymore. It will probably be 2 years before we even see season 6. So why bother. Us older people don't even know if we'll be here in 2 years. We will see. MAYBE?????

@@mary.gcarpenter1490 No problem. Discussion of favorite books, movies, or characters is always a joy. Yes, accusatory is definitely a strong word. Also, what was shocking to Claire about his marriage was not the fact that he remarried. If he had survived Culloden she wouldn't have wanted Jamie to live a solitary and lonely life. It was WHO he married. The first shocking pain and disbelief that he had married the person who had wished her dead. Who plotted and planned not just Claire's death but pulled Ghellis into it also. It must have felt, to Claire, like a stab to the heart. Ofcourse we learn that it was Jenny, with well meaning intentions for her brother, who brought them together. When words are verbally spoken it is often not enough to just hear. We need to listen to the voice to catch the emotion, see the expression on the face and in the speakers eyes.
