Hi could you please explain what she meant by every other right side row? In this sentence "Then keep on working and adding stitches by m1 on each side of the middle stitches, on EVERY OTHER right side row, until 12” from the start. "
@laymuuna8821
@laymuuna8821 Жыл бұрын
@@eyas8519 I suppose she means that you have to increase every second row (the row with the "right"stiches in contrast to the "purl"stitches) Hope this will help you - although you asked pretty long time ago... 🌸

Hi @JoannesWeb, I have tremors, and need to work this with 5.0 needles, they're the smallest I'm able to comfortably work with; would the stitch count be the same? or can I reduce it by some stitches?

Hi Alexandra. The pattern calls for: #7US (4.5) long cable circular needles. I don't believe using # 5.0 mm needles will make a difference. This is a very pretty cape. Enjoy it!

@@JoannesWeb Thank you. I managed to knit two swatches, one on 4.5 needles and the other on 5.0. The size difference was a matter of 2 stitches.... I agree, I think it will be fine! Thank you so much for coming back to me! ETA: It took me over 25 minutes to knit the 4.5 swatch and 17 to knit the 5.0 swatch. So I'm glad I tried it! It's progressing well. Will send you a picture via email once it's all done! Thanks again!

I love the capelet, however while watching your tutorial I'm not understanding the middle stitch. You show you increases, then your purl row and then when you come back to do another increase there is a smaller marker and you mention about a middle stitch. Exactly what is this middle stitch?
@JoannesWeb

The middle stitch is the one in between the 2 increases. So, you make 1, knit one and make one. The knitted one is the middle stitch

Oh, I casted on 88 stitches AND WORKED ROW 1 IN K1P1 RIB ALL THE WAY AROUND BUT THAT'S INCORRECT? You only ribbed 4 stitches on each end and the rest are just knit stitches? Yes, I understand you reversed the last 4 rib stitches.
@JoannesWeb

It's seed stitch on the edges
@catherinemelnyk
@catherinemelnyk Жыл бұрын
@@JoannesWeb it would be so much simpler to state that. Also, I cast on 88 stitches and with the markers it just didn't work out correctly. If I have 14 sts to 1st marker, if I seed stitch the first 4 sts, then there is 10 sts to work in stockinette. At the other end, after last marker I have 18 stitches left. You either have to reduce # of stitches or move marker placements ti have an even # of stitches between each section. 84 stitches is divisible by 14.
