In other words, will she have faith that, as difficult as it has been for them both as they reconcile the events of twenty years apart, they will persevere, comforted by the memories of the life they shared together, in pursuit of a new life together.

She's been in love with the man she held in her memory,the man she knew before she went back through the stones. I never understood why they had to rush them off to America and did not take the proper time to explore this whole "getting back together" arc in both the books and the series. There was so much potential there for the characters - for Claire to get used to the 18th century again after 20 years (like she is saying here, it's not like she remembered and she misses the comfort of home) and for both Jamie and Claire to get used to each other again and understand how they have changed, to deal with the resentments of jealousy and hurt about being apart (they even cut out a perfectly good scene in which Jamie asks how close she was with Frank). No idea, but I feel like this was a hugely missed opportunity and they could have taken their time to let them kind of fall in love all over again.

Fortunately, he is married to Laoghaire and not with a really nice woman, who would have given him several children. On the other hand, she talks about her good life in Boston, when he has spent years of hell.

Did you watch the show ? Did you listen to jaime explain to claire why did he marry laoghaire?? He said after she went back to the stones he suffered the following years missing her and felt empty inside until he saw laoghaire daughters in the party and felt lighter for the first time in years he never thought claire would come back thats why he gave a chance to laoghaire because of her daughters and how he felt with those girls. He didn’t have to suffer anymore he gave himself another chance in life thats why claire understood him.

@@xoxo-cj5mo I saw the show and read the book, where he marries without knowing that Laoghaire tried to kill Claire, because Claire never told him about it. My opinion is not judging Jamie. You don't need to explain why he got married. In the show and in the book it is clear that he is looking for a certain warmth of home and his sense of honor leads him to try to help a woman who is alone in a very difficult time. My opinion is marking the ingenuity of Claire to believe that everything would be easy after 20 years apart. At some point he would want to rebuild his life and thank God it was with Laoghaire, who in the end does not deserve that Jamie and Claire sacrifice their feelings for her. It would be more difficult with another type of woman.

Claire here reacted like this because she felt betrayed by Jamie, we're talking about it was a great hurt to find out that among all women Jamie chose Laogharie knowing all the damage he did to her, it's like Jamie when he was hiding from the redcoats will find out that Claire had accepted Dougal's proposal, he would have been upset too, maybe if Jamie married Mary Macnab or Geneva would have hurt Claire, of course, but she would have understood that 20 years had passed and he had the right to make a life, perhaps they would have hugged and remembered how her great love and her She returned to Boston with Bree, but she did not understand why the woman who almost killed her at the stake and helped burn Geillis, there Claire did not know that she survived and she was always hurt by the death of her friend who saved her

Jamie was a smuggler and printing treasonous pamphlets. He was responsible for putting Claire in a dangerous situation. Claire is quite unselfish, imo. She gave up everything to come back to Jamie. She gave up her daughter, career, home and 20th century conveniences.

Am I the only one that thinks that every new episode of Outlander is becoming more and more disappointing? It's getting waaaaay to slow, mushy and dragging... completely dissatisfying! Episode 7 was really really annoying more annoying than the episode before, all of those flash backs draggggggged on, I personally found it really boring and didn't care for that story line at all, the change up from the book and choice for Brianna to end up with Jamie's wife was wasteful and distasteful, the meeting at Lallybrook and choice not to ensure Jamie's sister was part of that scene, took away the oomph and made everything nothingness.... pathetic... this episode also looks crap, I will not be watching... As once a HUGE outlander fan, I am no longer interested...well done dickheads who stuffed the story up....DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!
