My dashcam video saved me tens of thousands of dollars. Had a driver fail to yield and crash into my Honda Clarity at a 4 way stop sign. My video proved that the other driver failed to yield, and their insurance company had to pay me for the totaled Honda.

I concur with this. For years I have been using Rexing dash cams and switched over to a Viofo A129 Pro Duo in my ID4 a while back. The Viofo seems to be about the best video quality on the market right now and unlike the Rexings the rear camera is as good as the front. I checked and verified that I can read plates really well on cars in front and behind me so I have some protection from potential hit and run drivers. I've considered getting one in the wife's Model Y because the video quality is so much better than the Tesla Cam.

Dave, this couldn't of come at a better time for me haha! Because I haven't been able to secure work because of the writers strike, I started Lyft. I was in the market for a new dash cam. This looks like a great product and will for sure buy this and get your commission

So true. After buying my Tesla, I have installed dash cams on the family's other two cars. Unfortunately, too late to capture a hit and run accident, which happened too quickly to take note of the other car's details. Our other cars are actually a Mercedes and BMW, but no doubt any built in dash cams on these cars would have been a ridiculously expensive option.

Totally agree on the importance of a dash cam! Your example, however, might not have worked in your favor...at least in California in most situations. If someone is rear-ended here, it's the person that hits the individual that is at fault unless the forward car cut off the rear car. In the clip shown, both cars were in the same lane. The premise behind the California law is that following at a safe distance avoids rear-end collisions, even if the car in front abruptly stops. With that said, it looks like the jerk in front of the car in front of you wanted to take that off-ramp and made the last-minute stupid decision to stop abruptly to take that ramp.

Dave, any chance of a video showing how to download the files from the dash cam to a laptop/pc or tablet. I don’t have a dash cam in either of my cars but recently had to help a family member retrieve the files to email them to the police and it wasn’t easy to recover the files.

Had you crashed into that car in front of you, then you would have recorded evidence that you were at fault. Come on, Dave.....at least understand that you are always responsible to maintain a safe following distance from the vehicle in front of you no matter the situation. If a car in front of you emergency brakes for any reason, you need to be able to stop in time.

Someone in front slamming brakes and cutting over painted lines to take a last minute exit doesn't seem like Dave is at fault by default.

Question would be, which action caused the accident, what it changing lanes not safely, or failing to control speed for being cut off and braked. Some states it could be shared fault. I vote the improper lane change was the only cause.

@@graysonwagner1855 Stupid logic. If the car in front made the same exact manuever without a car behind him, then no collision could have been possible. Therefore, it's obvious that the responsibility lies almost entirely with the trailing car. And for what it's worth, in Dave's video, he was the second car following behind the car that erratically tried to avoid missing the exit. So Dave actually had a buffer between him and that first vehicle. But ultimately, there was no collision in his case. But if there had been, he would most definitely been at fault.

Do they ship/sell outside the US/Canada zone do you happen to know? Will they support it if you did get one shipped via a 3rd party outside that geographic region? Look amazing though, mind you my current top of shortlist next EV when my lease runs out early next year is the BYD Atto 3 which has a dashcam built in sort of like Tesla but only records frontwards not all around like Tesla at least currently. But all depends on the new 2024 Kona EV or could be the Cupra Tavascan(my total favourite dream EV).
