Full story: indianapublicm... Toxic waste from the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio has already arrived in Indiana. A landfill in Roachdale started receiving truckloads of contaminated soil this week.
Despite assurances from officials that the site owned by waste management company Heritage Environmental is equipped to handle the waste, residents say they’re worried.

They know exactly what they’re doing, know how to circumvent the law. They already delivered it the day of the meeting? Not surprised at all. They have a team of experts looking for loopholes. The only way to stop this kind of thing is for the people to stop being complacent and get involved.

Probably not but should if at all possible. Nuclear waste for example. I wonder also if people vote to decide if a waste site is allowed in the areas where they live. Seems to me the epa might need to put more effort into preventing these kind of disasters rather than just clean-up afterwards. Remember the science taught in elementary school, our water and air constantly recycles. Our oceans, rivers, aquafers, our skies,, Geoengineering, who gave permission for that??

These huge train transport companies should have emergency response plans for each kind of chemical spill, designed for every kind of terrain and catastrophe. Already in their computer systems ready to be accessed and altered for more exacting responses at their fingertips nearly immediately during the first moments and accessible for any catastrophic problem that may arise. Along with knowing which of their response teams need to be activated and which Federal, STATE and local governments they may need to immediately get in touch with and activated. This is no longer the 1800's where they can hide from these dangerous events any longer.. Full visibility, facts, and warnings, along with reaching out for the proper response teams in any area of the country must start immediately without fail, every time. These types of catastrophes can easily rival NUCLEAR power plant disasters very quickly and can easily have as long lasting and as detrimental effects over just as large areas. And these effects can also reach around the world within hours to days. These companies have been in this business for well over one hundred years. For these companies to act like these disasters of catastrophic proportions are a surprise is ridiculous. Or like it's a once in a lifetime event they never expected as a possibility is ridiculous. For them to not be nationally prepared constantly IS A JOKE AND VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO EVERYONE DIRECTLY INVOLVED AND TO ALL AMERICANS IN GENERAL. IF THIS IS THEIR BUSINESS, IT'S THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND THE LEAST THAT SHOULD BE EXPECTED OF THEM, IF THEY PLAN TO KEEP DOING BUSINESS ON AMERICAN SOIL, RISING AMERICAN CITIZENS LIVES, LIVELY HOODS, HOMES, AND FUTURES. THEY SHOULD ALSO HAVE A BILLION DOLLAR OR MORE MINIMUM TRUST AVAILABLE FROM EACH TRAIN TRANSPORT COMPANY AT ALL TIMES. WITH NO EXCEPTIONS READY TO START PAYING FOR ANYTHING NEEDED. And citizen groups from the involved areas must be an important part of knowing and responding to these events at every stage possible from moment one.. This should be a key part of every national train transport company. Bankruptcy should never be the financial way out for these companies if they are to be in this business with these size and kinds of physical, health and environmental risks while carrying out their everyday business models. These companies that are having their chemicals transported must also keep these billion dollar trusts for their own responsibilities involved with their chemicals heading in every direction. After all, these companies that produce, store, and handle these chemicals. Should be the most knowledgeable in every aspect of what kinds of disaster responses would work best in nearly all circumstances. Much better than train transport companies alone.. There needs to be a multi prong approach to best deal with these events, for best collection, best mitigation and then into the best long term responses continually to be needed. We need the blame responses, costs and needed actions to come as directly from the parties and companies involved at every level.. OR THESE CHEMICALS SHOULD NOT BE TRANSPORT IN SUCH LARGE QUANTITIES BY ANY COMPANY OR INDIVIDUALS. AMERICA NEEDS TO START FIXING ALL PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE CATASTROPHES AT THEIR CORES BEFORE THEY HAPPEN. AND WHEN NEEDED THEY MUST BE PROPERLY HANDLED FROM THAT POINT FORWARD AS WELL. WE ONLY HAVE ONE AMERICA AND ONE WORLD. WE AS A COUNTRY MUST RESPECT AND TAKE CARE OF THESE AS BEST WE CAN. OTHERWISE WE HAVE NO OTHER PLACE TO HIDE FROM OUR OWN DESTRUCTION. Now is the proper time to work out these long term solutions. And every American and especially those effect individual in these events taking place at this time are the best ones to start this forward looking and acting needed structure of organization, rules, laws, trusts, and whatever else is to be needed... TODAY IS THAT DAY, IN THE FUTURE WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOOK BACK TO AS THE EVENT HORIZON THAT WILL FOREVER HELP US WORK TO PROTECT AMERICA AND THE WORLD...

@@jazzdude904 First, it's not rare, except for the volume of the problem. These companies experience hazardous spills all the time. Just not in these quantities. They do know what to do, and all the risks at different levels within the corporation. They just refuse to always act in the best interest of the citizens, nature, and everything else important. They worry more about costs, profits, and what they can get away with. THAT'S THE BIGGEST PROBLEM. This is very simpler in many ways to a protest in my younger years that went on for 6 months and no one knew because the corporations made sure the media wouldn't talk or say anything about it. Once one little news publication published the story. All millions of people that would be effected yelled and hollered and raised such a stink so fast and so furious. The corporation acted and government acted so fast and probably with so much overtime to remedy the situation. It was only like a week till all the proper actions started happening in very public ways to protect everyone to their basic satisfaction. I'd bet you never even knew any of this happened. So let me explain and don't assume you know just because you recognize the industry. It had to do with a containment plan to trap, healthy, sick, dieing and soon to be sick and dieing American citizens. It was on Long Island in New York around 1976 at the Shoreham Nuclear power plant that was being built. A small group of people became aware of 29 feet of documents within the regulatory documents that were part of everything. If you piled the documents I'm talking about on top of each other, it's a stack 29 feet high. A three story building equivalent. Labeled "THE CONTAINMENT PLAN" . What to do in case of a nuclear run away. Or meltdown. It listed what bridges and highways would have to be closed and blockaded to contain and keep all the American citizens from trying to run, to try and save their lives. They would blockad roads through New Jersey, upstate New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Road Island, close airports and everything else. It took 6 months to get heard, 1 week from public publication, and PUBLIC OUTAGE before the company had a new plan called. THE "EVACUATION PLAN" . Which most people think was the responsible corporations idea about how to save the most American citizens in the event of a NUCLEAR MELTDOWN, DISASTER, CATASTROPHIC, EVENT. Like ever Nuclear power plant has designed into their plans ever since. TODAY IT'S TIME FOR TRAIN RAIL COMPANY AND TRUCKING COMPANIES THAT DEAL WITH HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS, SPILLS AND SUCH TO DO THE SAME. COME UP WITH GOOD, WORKABLE, SATISFACTORY, CLEAN UP, AND CONTAINMENT PLANS

Jesus Christ. 😧 They “won the bid” for it. Makes me assume that the cheapest option won-definitely not the best option. I totally understand the anger and distrust. Hopefully with all the attention, this will pressure them into actually properly monitoring the soil.

If people were actually taught how it was being transported and handled I feel like practically everything would be fine. It's gonna be buried underground and the facility has approximately 20 wells around it, the wells will be tested for any chemicals in the water, if there are chemicals in the wells then I have no idea what's gonna happen next. My mom works for the health department but that's all she explained to me, they simply weren't told enough about it, she was literally watching the news because she didn't have that much information. Basically, I heavily doubt there will be any leaks but Indiana is practically underfunded in EVERYTHING.

Those states government accepted that toxic waste without the permission of its Citizens.. By doing so placed everyone in those states in harms way.. And those trucks hauling that toxic waste pass other towns is causing the same thing. Why aren't you all questioning your local government why they did this behind your backs They are lying you all are going to get sick messing with them

I don't blame the residents. They don't want a superfund site outside their home leeching toxic waste into the ground to seep into the aquifer. It's 100% profit over safety.

They put it in a landfill above the aquifer system for their water. Hmm what could possibly go wrong with that! Their 15 minute City plans for the US already being implemented. One small rural town at a time. I read yesterday that the ones in charge of the palestine clean up have now offered to buy every one out living there, the entire town. Another rural town, will be gone. You know their not going to compensate these home owners with the values they had on their property before the incident. Which is what they should be made to do. Some one in that Town needs to get every one together and hire a law firm. I wonder what small town in America is next to wake up one morning and find its already been put in the ground there? They said 4 places in this video, so who is next?
