I'm not sick of outrage marketing. I'm just sick of people thinking they are edgy and controversial when they aren't. Also I think if you are going to say offensive things, Have meaning and purpose while doing that. Do not just be edgy for the sake of being edgy. Good video!

This is so well said and as an artist myself, I totally agree. Being controversial for the hell of it is boring af. Being controversial because you genuinely want to talk about something important is far more interesting

The outrage marketing is getting stale for creators but not the audience, I think the best way to get similar outreach is being cleverly Augmented like 4batz, he obviously looks like he's gonna rap and then the beat drops, it's intriguing and then the voice doesn't match and suddenly we have a viral moment based off of simplicity. In my opinion authenticity will always shine through as long as the product works and is pushed along with something that looks nuance but feels new which is the ethos of things like fashion and design.

absolutely love the deep dive into Liberty University. Gave me a completely new perspective on the Lil Nas X situation, but I do think that the main thing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth is his whole "im doing it because I love christianity" bit, which I feel like if he just admitted that it was another political stunt to point out christian hypocrisy. I believe the reason he didn't say it directly was because it did feel redundant and it does definitely leave "well he's just doing it again" vibe to it. Love your videos, keep going.

my only issue is I don’t respect someone essentially selling out to push a certain narrative for money. call it outrage marketing all you want but there is a different reality when it comes to certain levels of success. do what you want but don’t act like you’re the one making the decisions when there is agencies and massive companies making a roadmap of your careers trajectory. sellouts everywhere

Didn't bother to watch the music video or listen to the song. I agree with you when it comes to outrage marketing it's exhausting. Pope is a figure head for Catholics only. Overall Lil nas X's are usually pretty good but his antics make me want to avoid his music because it feels like I'm supporting the madness

The video is so scattered- it’s really just throwing as much shit at the wall to piss people off. Beyond Christianity, he wears a lot of outfits that would definatly piss off anyone who is homophobic.

You’re wrong about the Pope “blessing” same-sex couples. The actual document released states that “blessings” of gay people is permissible as in anybody who is a sinner can be blessed. It goes on to say that the Church does not recognize same sex marriage and that it is still a sin. It’s in response to German Catholic bishops that want to introduce same sex marriage into the church, not just something that came out of nowhere.

This is nothing new though. Prince, Kanye, Slipnot, Gwar, Madonna, Marilyn Manson, 666 Mafia, Kiss, and many more have done this. Outrage marketing is a staple of (little p) pop music because it is the fastest way to get the most attention. Lil Nas X is kind of tame compared to a lot of other artists. GG Allin was way more extreme than all of this and was all over daytime television and lists and he promoted sadism, Nas X is just skirting the line.

yeah for sure. GG Allin was definitely successful but with Lil Nas X we're dealing with someone who has charted #1 at least three times and has one of the highest streaming songs in history. he's reallyyyy on the front lines doing this haha

Sometimes I believe the guys (not Hadji) responding to these videos like Ben Shapiro are helping these blow up. And they should stop. But then again, would you like it if something like this was happening and no one said anything about it? 😂. I'm conflicted

A lot of people don't agree with a lot of religions. Most people matter of fact. If not all. But you don't see them go out of their way to diss them.
@dessmi9184
@dessmi9184 7 ай бұрын
Yeah the thousands years of war would say different. Indoctrination is important all religions and it involves insulting others to prove yours is right. You have a very optimistic but unrealistic view on how people treat other religions.
@cold485

@@dessmi9184 I'm talking now and I'm talking in this manner in particular. You don't see Christians mocking Islam for the most part. MOST people don't do that. Saying that your religion is "the one true religion" is different than what lil Nas x is doing here. Most Islamic or Christian people don't bother trying to make vishnu look bad, they usually focus on their god and call the devil bad. The most they'll usually go to "insult" other religions is say that the devil figure in their religion is the god figure in others' religion. Not depicr vishnu as a slave, or make songs disgracing his/it's integrity. Most religious people focus on their god and sing songs to praise their God more than song songs to diss other gods (if that even ever happens).

If outrage marketing is stale why does it keep making consistent money?? Hint: has nothing to do with Lil Nas X.

His songs are catchy. I wouldn't say they're all good but they get stuck in your head. Panini, old town road , Holiday. All worth the attention they stood out when they were released
