Nice! I have almost the same rig, it's called Svive d1 racing over here in Norway. I have lots of things to say about the rig. I'll start with the things I like: -It was affordable, about 320£ with the shifter arm. -I like the seat, it fits me well and is comfortable for me. -It doesn't look bad. -It was pretty easy to set up. The things I don't like: -It flexes a good bit everywhere, and I would not recommend using load cell pedals. -Almost no options for expansions to the rig. -Shifter arm has to be tightened REALLY hard to make it not wobble, just like the rig you reviewed. As soon as I can afford it I'm buying a aluminium rig. Trak Racer TR120 looks like a good rig for me.

I like the look of the rig. Awesome to see them taking feedback constructivly, hopefully they will mod v1 to 2.0 quickly. That flex was unaceptable. To save the overbored shifter arm mount holes, a bushing could be used. Full holes in the seat pan with proper bolt/washer/washer/lock nut setup would solve the seat mount issue. A secondary frame under the pedal tray for support, and 4 points of contact between pedal tray and main frame would solve the pedal flex. Bracing the wheel stand at 6 points of contact vs 2 would help the "Outshine" live up to its name.

Great review as always Karl. My decade old GT Omega Wheelstand Classic with a little bit of bracing has less wobble in it than that full rig. You have to wonder did anyone in the company actually sit in it and test it before signing off on the design.

Damn, I was looking at this for my rig like a month ago, back and forth messages with the company, they had no videos to show me properly, but what they did it just looked incredibly small. And now this review, I'm incredibly happy I didn't go with them and waste £450 on them.. They did give me a 10% off discount code too. So, shoulda known then.. EDIT: Out of curiosity I checked their webpage for the rig, and noticed a 5 star review on there with a picture. That review, I am assuming is not legit, its the same setup that they sent me when I asked about it, including the one and only video of it.

Nice, honest review Karl, thanks as always. Just wanted to say, my GT Omega Titan (bought earlier this year) pedal tray is reinforced with box section underside so no noticable flex there. Expect they improved on the original design following reviews/feedback.

This looks great, still watching now. The seat looks exactly like my NR-G seat I purchased from Amazon. Right down to the seat belt gaurd in bottom of the seat having lots of play.

I wish I had a time lapsed Karl to build every flat pack item I buy. I don't see the problem with all that wobble as someone who can't afford a motion system I would just wobble the monitor for immersion.

I got a very similar rig, its called a OPLITE GTR S3, unfortunately without a TV stand, but for a price of 300 quid, so im very happy and definetely it is not wobbling so much. the wheel section is built a bit different

Ive been using the F-GT rig for over 3 yrs now and i had to put strutts in to strengthen the wheel deck and its as solid as ANY rig out there, my only problem is its not a very comfy seat. Im upgrading to the F-GT elite or maybe the V-rig next yr! ✊🏻✌🏻💙

Thanks for the honest review Karl, you'd think manufacturers would reach out to someone like you BEFORE they put something on general sale! A little bit of feedback and then adjustment to the product and hopefully they could release something worthy of a mid range price. Still it's not the first company new to sim racing to do that and they won't be the last, I read somewhere that the early NLR products were a bit ropey but I've bought the F-GT elite. So there is hope for these brands yet if they can take constructive criticism and use it to their's and everyone elses benefit.

NLR products are still ropey.. just check their latest product, the motion plus tested by boosted media , wobbling from side to side.

Is the playseat trophy better in terms of flex than this? Does the trophy work good with a Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro 5nm PS5 wheel and basic load cell pedals? I originally planed to buy that Amazon Rig from GTPlayer, its under 300 Euro and looks like this one in the video but with less flex. But i think maybe i should buy a used Trophy instead.

lol you got my cockpit, its alright, does the job but i do have to put books under the pedal tray so it doesnt flex from my simforge pedals, i also had to get adapter so i can use both shifter and handbrake, i also managed to bolt in my simagic alpha mini via two bolts instead of 4, seems sturdy like that anyway, and i had to lift up the plate all the way up to barely make it face me right, i dont have that flex though, damn someting aint right with yours, mine is stiff, to clarify we have the same design, not the same band so maybe thats why mine doesnt flex

I bought this rig and I have a bit different impression. In Poland this stuff is being sailed under brand Nano RS. This which I received was quite stiff. Only shifter mount needed some tweaks to reduce play. But honestly I can say that it was good buy.

I mean, as long as they're taking feedback, ideal. But you'll think they'll take feedback before product is sold to the public. A company trying to get into the market without any real market research, if they really want to try and capture some of this market share, i'm sure they'll go and research and make a better product and maybe we'll actually have an alternative to existing setups which would be nice.

Hey man I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I currently use the gt lite cockpit and I am pretty knew to SIM racing. Do you recommend I upgrade my hardware (wheel, shifter etc.) Or should I focus on a more sturdy cockpit first (Omega art etc.)?

Cockpit first IMO mate as that is what everything bolts to and is your base, no point putting amazing DD wheel base on a wobbly cockpit for example.

I'm going to get the sim hound rig and a gt omega seat with a wall mount for my monitor so in total 500 quid for a aluminium profile rig adjustable chair and adjustable monitor mount. Bit of a better option in comparison to this if you ask me.

I'm amazed this got into the wild. It actually looks as bad if not worse than the ADX abomination you reviewed a while back. Even the old Playseat Evo looks more stable than this and that is saying something.

IMO all you'd need is a pair of steel bracing straps and removing the plastic spacers to make it more solid, hell even adding some washers where the 2 frames bolt together would remove most of the flex cause the pics on their site just show the bolt connecting them but no support there at all, it looks like there's just one plastic insert per side so it creates a fulcrum just making the wobble much, MUCH worse. Maybe you could move the plastic spacer to right beside the bolt holes and get more rigidity? I'd avoid the monitor mount full stop though, just to stop any flex in the frame causing the monitor to wobble, which makes me wanna puke. If I didn't have a cockpit I'd seriously consider this, without the shifter mount and monitor stand, cause the flex can be sorted easily enough with a modicum of common sense...

I don't get why companies release kit that is not up to scratch. You can tell right away that that cockpit will have a ton of flex. Bracing would obviously help but they must have known KG was going to be honest about it. Just a look at other reviews would tell that he says how it is

Karl, I disagree that these rigs are not designed for full power wheel bases like the DD1 and pedals like the Sprints. They're full frame kits and I want to see if they can hold up like they're supposed to.

Looked so sturdy and solid until you started shaking the whole setup, this rig needs a fastening point to a wall behind and a wood plank underneath pedals and that is wierd to fix then you spend 400$ on the product and expecting it to work

Looks almost identical to my tube rig. I don't like it. Flexes like crazy everywhere, no option to use both a shifter and handbrake at the same time. Ok edit: Mine does not flex that much on the wheelbase, it still flexes a bit but not nearly that much.

This is a CSL DD, a small light wheel base! For it's price it should be able to handle that all day long as others in this bracket can and do, the GT Omega Titan or Sim Hound cockpits for example.

That is truly awful. How on earth did this get the green light to be produced, and why was it not tested at the prototype stage, assuming there was one, which doesn't look likely given the state of it. There seems to be a lot of new entrants into the rapidly growing sim racing market that appear to want a slice of the pie, but are not prepared to engineer their products to an acceptable degree. Actually looking at this they didn't engineer it, they just slapped some metal tubes together and hoped they could sell it.
