"Ha, lol, no, trap door"

I think the thing I loved most about RE2 was how the further into the game you got the more horrific and mutated the enemies seem to become. Like in the beginning it's just Zombies, but when you reach the Police Station you meet a Licker for the first time, and then after a little while you're being hounded by G-Virus Mutants and all sorts until by the time you're in the lab at the end you're relieved to fight just a regular zombie because everything else is so horrible and alien. The original Resi had a bit of that but I think they nailed it with 2 and never quite hit the same heights with the rest of the series.

"I was a tiny child, playing Resident Evil 2." I was, in fact, legal to drink, 20 years ago. Not by a whole lot, but I was. And we were the hipsters of our time, playing our retro NES games on our original NES, sticking matchbooks in to make the games work, playing Arkanoid without the Arkanoid controller because the guy who'd brought it from home had forgotten his controller.... I got a PlayStation when I graduated.
