Kihei is so underrated. We usually always spend time on Kihei while on Maui and it has awesome beaches and friendly locals:). Can’t wait to come back when all this is over.
@MauiTravelVideos4 жыл бұрын
Aloha and Thank You! Totally Agree! Kihei has excellent restaurants, maybe the best sports bar (Moose's) good Italian food, etc. Beaches are really nice and, unlike West Maui, you've got a couple with stores/restaurants across from the beaches. Most Kihei beaches have better parking and facilities also. Lots to love about Kihei, and also the Wailea area with their beaches. Thanks again. Stay safe and healthy and we'll see you when you get back to Maui at Thirsty Turtle in Lahaina. Mahalo.

Aloha Steve and Patricia! Thx for another informative video. Such nice work you do on all of your videos. Have been coming to Maui nearly yearly since the mid 1980's and will return once this virus gets under control. In the meantime, your videos soothe my wanderlust a bit. I've always enjoyed the many parks on Maui as well as the lovely grassy lawns some condo rental properties offer. So, this video really spoke to me, park-wise, especially now that I'm getting older and pacing myself is becoming more important. Kam I, II, and III are fabulous and completely unforgettable. What a nice job you did capturing their fine points and essence. (I'll point out, too, that there are ramps for handicapped folks in some places along that stretch of parks and beaches which are always welcome by folks with aging knees. Yes, Boomers, I'm talking to you.) Can't wait to return to Maui and am equally looking forward to your next video. Thx, again, for this one.

Aloha and thanks Jo Anne for your message. Love It! I hope you, too, can get back to Maui soon. Later this year it will be a bit better, I hope, but I worry about the Mainland USA and the country going backwards. Yes, I need to slow down and talk more about ramps and stuff for children, etc. Good Idea! We're heading Tuesday for Haleakala Sunrise (video) and then I will do an "Upcountry" video with a bunch of stops. Also, we will do a half-day to Lana'i next week. Thanks for watching and keep the ideas and suggestions coming. Stay safe and we'll see you at Thirsty Turtle when you get here and we'll celebrate life!! Best Aloha Wishes.

Good to know about the ramps. I caught a virus in Dec (Covid 19???, who knows) and now have to use a wheelchair for extended walks (not that I am doing any extended walks because of lockdown!!). So, those ramps might come in handy when we visit... now next year.

Once again, Cousin Brother Steve makes my day with his kaamaaina updates. Don't forget the ''Grouchy Gecko", Lazy Lizard or "Screaming centipede"!! LOL! Have a safe week and keep them coming sir!!

Aloha & Super Thanks Max Austin. Patricia so very much wants to open a "Beer Garden" like the ones in Thailand, but here on Maui. The "Grouchy Gecko" would be perfect, but I'll probably get sued by The Dirty Monkey. LOL. I love creating brands and using just two words for the brand. Now --if I can just get Thirsty Turtle open and some cash flow, I'm ready to expand quickly. But, I'm afraid it's going to be awhile! In the meantime, stay healthy and somewhat sane in these boring times. I'm worried as our cases are increasing here in Hawaii, especially Oahu. Take Care!!
@MauiTravelVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hey Max ...many places are closing on Maui for good and won't reopen. Ruth Chris Steak House, Da Kitchen (Kihei) and Lahaina Coolers (our FAV) will not open. This is leaving a LOT of empty spaces. If I can get some cash flow going (since I don't have a rich Uncle) I would like to take advantage of this incredible opportunity on Maui. I just need one to get going! Stay Tuned!

Aloha and good to see you Toys2Cars. Charlie Young Beach is north a bit of KAM I and just south of Cove Beach Park. It's a small beach and a bit rocky. Pacific Shores is up the road a bit and is a landmark I often use. Finding parking is a bit tough up that way on S. Kihei Road. I don't remember it being "connected" to KAM I either. Thanks for the beautiful vid and info. I think we're cancelling our 3 Sep trip this week (not happy). I think we could comply with the pre-travel testing but don't want to wear masks everywhere (nor do we want to be ugly tourists). Really heatrbroken since we were spending two weeks.
@MauiTravelVideos4 жыл бұрын
Aloha and thanks Jimmy Boy. Darn. Well, I most certainly understand. Just hang-in-there and when this thing is over it'll be even sweeter when you get here. Interesting, how the planes will now be filled and COMBINED with A.) Those that spent money/time/effort on getting a negative Covid-19 test and B.) Those not tested and coming to Quarantine. I would be upset if I got tested and sat next to a bunch of people NOT TESTED! Unbelievable. As we've had so few visitors to Maui, we're pretty safe and most people don't wear a mask. I'm truly and honestly about the only one when I go on my walks. But you need to be comfortable and, again honestly, most and all of the good restaurants are still closed and it'd be a "different" environment. Some of it good ... some of it frustrating. EX. Road To Hana Is Closed To Non-Residents. Anyway, stay safe and salty and a little bit sane, and Best To You Always.

@@MauiTravelVideos Thanks so much. This was a retirement present for me but I just can't spend $20K (that's what we were spending with 2 weeks at the Grand Weilea and 1st Class air) for that "experience". Unlikely that we'll ever go back as, like most people, we'll just move on and find other things to do (since we can't come there I now want to put the money toward a retirement house in Ft. Lauderdale). I always enjoyed Maui but I doubt that I will come back because we're being forced to "move on" and once we do, again like most people, we dont really look back. Best of luck to you all stuck there. I hope you all find some way to recover financially because I dont believe things will return to a "normal" state in our remaining lifetimes.

@@jimmyboy5597 Aloha Jimmy Boy. Wowszie! Darn. I was so looking forward to meeting you. Perhaps, at another time. While I am truly disappointed, I completely understand. At age 66 and streaming quickly to 67yr old, I have many concerns & doubts. I'm, probably, a bit negative about Maui and tourism and ever recovering -- even within the next 3-5 years. That's a lot of time spent struggling and waiting. So, I have many decisions in the next 6-12 months to make also. We are dead here. Nothing. Homeless rising quickly. When unemployment ends for me and most everyone on July 25th, we will lose 30% of the island's people. Go To Florida & Enjoy It! I'm blessed to have traveled to 17 islands in the Caribbean -- and enjoy them as much as Maui & Hawaii. In some ways, I like visiting them better. I just could never see myself living on St. Thomas or St. John or any of the islands, so I moved to Hawaii 17 years ago. I love the Jacksonville area and The Keys. Go and hang with Jimmy Buffett. The cost of living is so much lower. I am happy for you -- happy you've made a wise decision. Please -- let's make each day count!!! I will here on Maui, and think of you living in Florida and then siting on a beach somewhere toasting your life's accomplishments. I wish you the best. Please stay in touch.

Are there any nude beaches on maui? Idk if id have the courage but it is on my bucket list lol :)
@MauiTravelVideos3 жыл бұрын
Aloha Courtney. Thanks and good to see you with a great question. YES! Little Beach, next to Big Beach, is a Nude Beach. The absolute best day to go is Sunday. In the late afternoon, there is always a fire show. I've been and taken Mainland Visitors -- just go over the hill and slide into the water. Then float up the beach. No one can see that I am NOT naked. It's interesting -- the guys all look good, but the women don't always seem to look that nice. Oh, well. It's fun and entertaining. When you want to get out, float back up toward the hill -- get out and walk back over the hill. Easy. Look for my Big Beach Video. Best Aloha Wishes.

ALOHA TAHA AL. Many thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. You know the islands very well after so many years, so let me know if there's a place on Maui you'd like to see. Always looking for new ideas and suggestions. Also, always looking for "Royalty-Free, Non-Copyright Music". I use KZbin Audio Library mostly, because I know my videos will not be tagged for a copyright violation. I had a few and they're tough to deal with. I even found a local singer/muscian and asked to pay him for some of his music, and he declined. Finding "Hawaiian Music" that fits some tough parameters is very difficult. I'm always open for that. I do have a couple of ukulele songs, but I've used them too many times. May use them again soon. Best Aloha Wishes and please stay in touch. Hope you make it to Maui soon.
