Odd that they roll it up in a different way to the unfurling. Is there a reason for this?

You can do it both ways - just ensure that the doors are open so that air can leave the tent.

Good to know (esp the doors bit - that's where I went wrong previously). Second question - do the poles fit in the bag? When rolling up he appeared to not add the poles to the rollup.

If poles go in the same carrier bag differs from tent to tent. In regards to the Montana 6P the poles are in a separate pole bag - you can see that under specifications on our website: www.outwell.com/en/Products/tents/premium-tent-collection/montana-6p
