I am so impressed with the amount of knowledge and skill demonstrated in this video. This is not just a video about a 30 day survival challenge. Greg is a living, walking testament of bushcraft as practiced for 100's of years. I feel privileged to be able to come along on this journey even if only by video. Thank you for keeping the lost skills of history alive and sharing it with the world! You guys totally rock!

I had a great-uncle, Terry, who unfortunately passed almost 7 years ago from throat cancer. For 20 years he lived in the Alaskan bush and I didnt even know he existed till he moved back down to Wisconsin. He spent a few years on a halibut (probably misspelt) fishing boat, and came with so many stories. In the short time I knew him we bonded a lot, and I miss him. These videos remind me of him so much.

Habakkuk 2:13 Has not the LORD Almighty determined that the people’s labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing? For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. 🙌🏽 John 14:23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 🥰 Zechariah 5:6 I asked, “What is it?” He replied, “It is a basket.” And he added, “This is the iniquity of the people throughout the land.” Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman! He said, “This is wickedness,” and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed its lead cover down on it. John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 🙏 Colossians 3:10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. 💪🏽

That water is absolutely beautiful!!! So clear. Not many lakes in Michigan like that anymore. I was about 14 years old when I discovered nettles. I was trout fishing with my dad in a little stream in Michigan. I didn't know what they were at that time, what they looked like ect. I was beside the stream walking (forgot why I wasn't in the stream) and walked through the plants in shorts and a tank top. Needless to say I have NEVER WALKED THROUGH NETTLES AGAIN! Oh, and yes my dad thought it was extremely funny!!

Stinging nettles are one of my favorite vegetables. When I was younger, early 20's, I did this for six months, twice. I did it alone. Now, I talk to myself. :) I did this in E.KY/S. OH, within five miles of the river. If you use a Carbon steel knife, like a CS Mora, you can use the spine on the knife to scrape your ferro rod. Just file the spine flat 90 degrees, and you won't need to use the edge. :)
