Over 150 ABANDONED Houses with EVERYTHING Left Inside | Exploring Abandoned Ghost Town

Today we’re taking a look into an abandoned town of 150 houses with nearly everything left behind. In 2017 the city had everyone vacate their units because of a defective drainage and plumbing problem that caused very unclean conditions for the residents. Not only was it bad living conditions but there had been many reports of shootings in the area that made the city want to try something new. In 2018 a development company purchased all of the homes with a plan of creating something very similar but more updated. Those plans never came to life. Today all of the homes still stand with many houses left with everything inside. Join us today as we explore this abandoned neighborhood.

I used to live here back in 2001. These were known as the Woodcliff Condos in Whitehall which is a suburb of Columbus Ohio. The property couldn't pass city codes for safety and sanitation and the city was forced to take ownership of the property for $9 million and all of those who remained were forced to leave around 2016. The colorful paint on the outside was to notify the city which units were empty with no tenants. The plan is for all of the buildings to be demolished in the near future and it's rumored to become more housing and space for shops and entertainment.

I hear the world is way too over populated all the time, but if you go to Detroit, St. Louis and many other cities like that. It's neighborhood after neighborhood of abandon decrepit houses. Still blows my mind about the amount of abandon places I see just on KZbin. Entire towns and neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, stores, malls. Makes me wonder, where have all the people gone?

The same thing is happening every where in usa . I am seeing this and observing this for decades now. People are dying off and who is left is being slowly step by step being herded into "smart cities " which are going to turn into ( I think ) the worst form of slavery ever invented by humanity all being run by AI they claim so the culprits can point the fimger and change thier names and hide just like they always do. Good historical example not that I'm blaming this particular family are the saxa coburn gothas changing thier name to Windsor post WW 2 so they could get rid of the German sounding last name.

The company that on these units started selling individual units for condos around 1978. That is when everything started going downhill! They are currently being used for fire rescue and search training by most of the fire departments and police in Franklin county Esparza way as the bell fountain Ohio area. It is closed off and you can be charged with trespassing! It is also very dangerous especially since the fire departments has compromised the structures with their exercises if you will notice the roofs being sawed in the walls being sawed. One unit on Broad Street was burned down as a training exercise for the Whitehall fire department back in October. I have lived in Whitehall for 65 years and It has really saddens me to see what has happened over the years!

Once I found out (from this other commenter) where this was, I did some research and found out that this was public housing, and that, in 2008, the entire development was declared a public nuisance, due to the fact that the police were Constantly being called there, and ... well, you can probably fill in the blanks. The last residents had to leave in 2019, and the area is going to be redeveloped.

Definitely looks like a low income development, I lived in one similar when I was younger, if they had plumping problems or other serious issues, the state comes it and shuts it down. People are usually given 30-60 days to vacate.if they don't vacate they lock you out, maybe that explains why so many material things were left behind? They also could have been given money for moving expenses, so people just say screw it, and leave it all behind or wait until last min. I've seen tenants just up an leave everything behind. 🤔

I grew up on the east side of Columbus. As a kid in the 80s this was the coolest neighborhood on the east side. Originally it was housing for DSCC employees. It sat just on the east side of DSCC. On the west side of DSCC was greenbriar apartments which is one of the worst housing projects in Columbus. Uzi alley...

Same here. Usually specially with children given them enough time to pack and with own cars take things belong to them Usually it gives an excuse to throw away readers . When u check the non ending billion cases from Italy to USA to S America etc. This goes way back even to the Alaska case 1930s I seen cases like this several parts of USA an don't won't surprise self at all . Just that gov local keep it under to pretend they are were will be in control an not sound the alarm of all the S all of them into it " together " got. But then again it goes way back non of u ever were alone never will lol 😂 Can any recall back history of USA The new England? That's how Thanksgiving stared The England's arrived in that part of USA now days called New England for same reason When they arrived they. Confidentially found the area by .. completely empty Houses intact - all utensils and all they need it. No mention in the old history mentions they found. Trade of skeletons. Keep messing around this time will be exactly how u all honestly deserve

That’s an old subsidized housing development.. there’s one in my County as well. It’s so obvious to me and complete same vibe. If I had to guess, the landlords went under and the state stopped funding them. Tenants probably didn’t get much notice.

They weren’t subsidized when I lived there 1996-2001 I owned 154C I lived in the cul-de-sac in the beginning of the video. Everyone in that court owned their condos.

Appreciate your work. As a point for improvement, maybe more back story? Obviously you have enough info to get your interest to travel to these places. I’d like to have more of a set up narrative. Constrictive criticism…

That area has been a shathole for years and NOTHING will change that. It was a low rent ghetto project that turned out just as it was predicted before they built the first structure.

People are commenting that may be subsidized housing. I don't think so because there was variety in the way the structures looked on the outside. Also usually low income housing have parking lots. (At least where I'm from.) I am thinking military housing except for the fact that I didn't see anything pertaining to the military anywhere such as clothes or signage.

Clearly if an entire neighborhood had to leave everything and evacuate because of a water problem and its not salvageable for these home owners than its obviously not ok for a billion$ homeless neighborhood either

Its not an abandoned ghost town, its a neighborhood. Literally across the street is a military finance base and the rest of the city, alive and well. People didnt have to up and leave they had notice, but most either didnt care about the stuff left behind or simply didnt have money for uhauls. There is an identical built neighborhood called parklawn less than a mile down the street thats alive and well. These homes were all old army and military housing before the base was decommissioned
