I put 4 of these exact modules in a B550M Steel legend. With 2 sticks I could hit 3800CL14 stable with tight timings, but with all 4 my best is 3533CL14. I'm guessing my IMC just isn't up to the task. Love the video BZ.

Got two of these kits years ago for my x99, they were stupid expensive at the time. The 2 sticks that survived (others died on XMP settings) are currently running 4000 16-16-17-26 at 1.4v on my new ryzen 5600x. Watching this was really helpful, going to try tighten the timings even more.

@@IIHydraII I can't guarantee you that, there's always some luck involved (my luck also gave me 2 dead sticks after a couple years) and the model was for sale for so long that some components may have changed during the lifecycle. Having said that, they are somewhat thight stock timings, there may have been some binning to get chips that run those stock timings.

Overclockers (thats your standard like vrm etc etc), 2. Some Gamers (Enough overclocking, low internet latency so its a good network ability) 3. Some Content creator (atleast its stable and fast when you give them big ram on 4 slot, some good thunderbolt 3 some good audio onboard even if they could use HDMI for output sometime they need high sampling rate for FL Studio or Adobe Audition and have clean audio output).

1.7volts on the RAM!! I overclock fairly heavily and bench (I copied your Y-Cruncher settings for more HwBot points) but I'm not brave enough to run that voltage even with a big fan over my dimms. I usually top out around 1.5volts for benchmarking and push the speed rather than tighten the timings up too much. Anyway I was looking for a board to replace the one in my recent budget build which failed. The X370 Steel Legend is only £150 with 3 years warranty so this video sold it too me even though it is the B550 so mine should be better. The ROG X370 Crosshair VIII Hero wasn't all that considering the cost, I want a change from Asus. 3733 is as fast as I can generally run with 3rd gen Ryzen. 3600 seems to be the sweet point for the best combo of speed and reliability.

@@claudep8014 I'm using the timings that 1usmus' "DRAM Calculator for Ryzen" tool spit out me. Do you know about it? If not, you should give it a shot. It worked for me. I first had to flash my bios though... I'm using a mini ITX X570 board from Gigabyte. The timings spit out from that guy's piece of software have held solid for 1 year now without any issues.

The true latency of a 3600 CL16 stick is 8,89ns and 8,75ns for a 3200 CL14 stick. Theoretically a 3200 stick should get you better (sub)timings. B-die is what you want to look for, according to Buildzoid Micron is even better.

That’s actually a trash bin, 3600-16-16-16-36-1.35v is another good bin, on Intel I have 4 separate kits that do 4600-16-16-16-36-2t-280 100% daily stable, tm5antaextreme/OCCT/p95 4-1024 basically 24hrs of extreme memory testing. And bench stable at 4800-14-14-14-28-1t-260 I daily 4700-16-17-17-34-2t-280 2x16gb dual rank that does 11k geek3 daily that’s a 3200c14 kit

@@Taikon_n From my memory I think it was 1.345V for the cpu and 1.49V for the memory. Most of the fun was getting the CPU to run stable. The cpu did not go above 3800 on the memory sticks in 1:1 ratio so I left it there.

I found 2 open box 2x8GB kits of GSkill's (Designed for AMD) FLARE X 3200CL14-34 for $160. I sure glad i kept it, being that Alder Lake doesn't really take amy real advantages with DDR5. At least the new stuff. I could see 6400CL32 maybe making a difference but there aren't any kits available, that can do 6400CL32.

Using cl14 flare x kit. 3466 MHz with 14 15 14 14 timings on a 2700X. Didn't manage to get it stable higher than that though. But that likely is because of the memory controller of the CPU.

I tried messing with my Corsair 3200 on the Steel Legend and wound up hitting a 07 code, then a 0d that I chased down to not having the RAM in the EXACT slots they were in with my XMP Profile....at least that is what the issue seemed to be to me because it is working fine now after I played "Which slot did you go in with a % probability raising each correct boot sequence we received" with 4 RAM slots. So now I am scared to mess with 64GB of RAM with 2 different chip types (the only difference is the RGB on 2 of the DIMMS - I THINK) Oh well, that's what I get for upgrading during a pan-dam-ic.

I don't really understand why, but for some reason, either my dual rank 2x 16GB b-die 3200mhz cl15 can't even do 3800mhz at CL18 or the cpu can't do 1900FCLK. It's bad to the point where the entire system just reboots, no blue screen. I lower it to 3600mhz at 1800FCLK and it's completely stable. So frustrating.

There a number of of RipjawV 3600C16 in NewEgg the one that ends with letter K is the bdie I was able to get it to 3800 14-14-14 but with little knowledge I have should I try tighter timiings or go for a 4000 since I am rocking asus tuf x570 5600x My current Cpuz single score is 666.7 with PBO on, Curve optimizer -20-20 rest scores -15 and Auto OC on . DRAM is set to 1.55 which from what I understand is ok with bdi sticks

5:48 dont lie! on X99 3400/3466mhz is easy by multiplier, if you have Asus Rampage V + Broadwell. Haswell - 3200 picua.org/image/cLh3yh You will struggle with memory overcloking, if you have certain gigabyte/msi/evga boards like BULLZOID

I bought one of those kits and it's the best kit of B-Die I've had. Compared to 3600 C15, 3800 C14 it does well. The only issue was the heatspreader. So I switched them out with a third party one. 1.5v I can do 3800 14-14-8-12-22-36. Pretty happy with them.

U can’t compare latency between the 2 platforms, there’s none, you can do sub 40ns on Intel without even trying. Just wait till rocket lake drops, 5000c16 will be in reach along with 5400c17

yeah, i think at the end of the video he said something about " i wanted to test with a board thats more reasonable to buy" and the aurous master is one of the most expensive B550, so that was the critiria it failed in... i guess. I have this one too, and would have liked to see more Overclocking on it ... but i think its fair from Buildzoid to have a look at a more "midrange Setup".
