I think I ordered the tube by itself and got the tub in a bundle when they were having a sale. That is why I decided to use them that way, making the one in the tube last longer:). If you go to her video before this one she goes over each of the Dermelect products she loves and gives detailed reviews on each.

Thank you for telling us not to put on peptides right after glycolic acids! Assuming lactic acids can also breakdown peptides? I haven’t tried a glycolic acid product on my face and neck in awhile because while my skin tolerates tretinoin fairly well, glycolic acid tends to irritate my skin but maybe the serum I used had a very low ph. Lactic acids seem to be less irritating for my skin but the sleeping serum sounds fantastic.

I made the mistake of using the serum on my neck ONCE before the cream (figuring who can’t use a little resurfacing on the neck!?) and have suffered the consequences ever since! Lots of Cicaplast and not much else and still red and flaky and healing. Learn from my mistake, Ladies! That serum is strong!

I have been using the dermelect neck cream in a tube since I first saw this video and I LOVE it, Have ordered 4 tubes total so that I always have it on hand and I took advantage of a recent sale. I was in Costco the other day and saw a 2 pack of ROC multi correxion lifting cream for the neck it was on sale for 45 dollars in a 2 pack 2.6 fl oz each. Have you tried this or heard about it? Thank you for this, and I saw immediate results with the sleep mask. Unfortunately, I always apply peptides immediately after all acids, so now I'm totally thrown by the advice about not using a peptide cream aftetward, i.e. OneSkin and Drmtlgy peptide night cream!!! I've never heard this mentioned in any skincare videos, even from dermatologists, but I realize that it's accurate. I also use glycolic or lactic acid lotion on my legs then apply OneSkin Body Lotion and then a sunscreen with peptides! I feel like I've wasted many bottles of $$$ OneSkin and $$$ sunscreen. 😧Feeling frustrated... How serious is this?! Thanks Penny

Well, you are not alone!! I have done this as well. I don’t think we’ve wasted money, it doesn’t render peptides ineffective, just *less* effective. So to me it’s just a matter of adjusting my application. If you want to study the chemistry (I’m no chemist!!) it’s called hydrolysis 😊 I do want to note that brands can (and do) formulate products with peptides and AHAs together so it’s not like it’s the end of the world. I just want my peptides as intact as possible (I imagine you do too!) 💙

I have been wondering about whether or not layering skin care products on , one right after the other, might “dilute” the efficacy of the product before it. I loved it back in the 1980s when products with glycolic acid came onto the market. Glycolic acid is absolutely wonderful. I used Serious Skin products back then and my skin looked fantastic. I hated it when skincare moved away from glycolic acid because the new products weren't that good. It wasn't until retinol serum appeared on the market that my skin became happy again. I swear that skincare products really took a nose dive for about 20 years. The industry, it seems, wasn't permitted to make any products that included acids or chemicals. Glycolic acid comes from fruit so I never understood why it disappeared off the market when it gave such good result. To this day, I run a slice of tomato over my clean skin now and then and I can feel it working immediately. Glycolic acid really is good for your skin.

Ok - I need help 🤣 I already use so many things in rotation!! I just added the dermalect professional neck cream. I already alternate with retrinal, lactic acid and various moisturizers and coop raw sauce. Now I need glycolic acid too?! If so, what do you recommend? 🥰🥰 AND Peach and Lily glass skin which I love. You can use it when you use your lactic- just patch test first to make sure it doesn’t irritate you but that’s a great time.

Hey Penny. I have been using a glycolic face wash (Derma E) a few nights a week, after a 1st oil cleanse, plus then their glycolic toner (daily) & then I was pretty much right after that putting on snail mucin, & then a peptide serum (Derma-E), & more recently, then also adding to that a Copper peptide serum (Biossance). I know the face wash gets washed off obviously, but would the peptide still react to the glycolic face wash...even if I stop using the glycolic toner? Also, is using a peptide serum, plus a copper peptide serum at the same time ok, or should they not be used together? And only recently did I find out that snail mucin has copper peptides in it as well, so if I use the copper peptides along w/ that, is that "overkill"? Will the glycolic mix acid serums help w/ my HEINOUS neck rings? Ugh! Besides the acids, is there any other suggestions you can give for that? I know I can't be the only one that this is (one of) the Bane our existence!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ And is there anyway that could you Please dedicate a video to the proper combining of actives, & when is best to use, what & when; as well as the proper "cycling" when you're trying to work into your routine a multitude of products to target multiple skin aging issues. I am SO CONFUSED w/ combining different products, that a Lot of my skin care just sits there, & I wind up not using a lot, & wind up being inconsistent with it all!!!

Thank you once again for the excellent information. I am curious if you use any ingredients on top of the Dermelect from 7:00 to the time you add extra products at night. If I understood you correctly, in this and past videos, you said vitamin C and other ingredients have oxidative properties and can degrade from the air. I know you mention in a past video not to use vitamin C and peptides, but you're saying after some time pasts you can? I am worried about the time from 7:00 to the time I go to bed and add extra products my dry skin will get worse. I have psoriasis. Also, I took your advice and ordered some "One Skin" lotion for my face and neck.I have Dr. Brenner C serum but want to change to the DerMelect you are suggesting, as Dr. Brenner's product has an unpleasant smell. Maybe all vitamin C products smell like that.

Hi, I only wait because my moisturizer is peptide based. I would say for you it would be more important to ensure hydration stays in your skin so I would put your moisturizer on after your serum to avoid water loss. As far as vitamin C and peptides- it’s only copper peptides that you have to worry about with vitamin C. All others are ok with vitamin C

I don’t think the strivectin has glycolic (I’ll try and find the deck too). Most of strivectin products are based on myristyl nicotinate (an ingredient relative to niacinamide). 😊

Penny, when I put glycolic acid on my hands, they look so much better than when I put tretinoin on them! You are right. Still love my tretinoin for my face, but for hands, arms, and neck glycolic acid works. I use it on my face too once in a while for exfoliation. I just use the glycolic acid toner from The Ordinary. Is that okay or do I need more of a cream? Thanks!!

I wonder if peptides are ok with lactic acid and other milder forms of exfoliating acids? 🤷‍♀️ I did try the Advanced Retexturizer on my neck and chest tonight with no issues and applied Soothe and Recovery cream on after. I did apply the vitamin C5 lotion before the Advanced Retexturizer but oh no I think that has peptides 🙈. I'm just going to stick with the Soothe and Recovery cream. The Advanced Retexturizer actually irritated my face a little more than my neck and chest but I do use a ton more on my face that's probably making it more sensitive.

@julufitness7349 I didn't see peptides in the Advanced Retexturizer just some different extracts. I love it for the face and feel I notice a difference. I think Drmtlgy could do better in that regard explaining ingredients and what to pair and not to pair. I would still keep it. I feel it's a good product. Usually if ingredients are combined in the same product they are fine, it's just what we layer with them that can cause ineffectiveness of something. I would be interested in the pH of the AR though.

I happen to have that one! I hadn’t opened it yet so I just did and I tested the PH and it’s between 3.5 and 4 (closer to 4) so that’s great. The only ingredient that is iffy is arnica- some people have an allergy. 😊
