Along with Dennis at Hooked on Wood I have found your Banggood tool reviews really helpful in sorting the wheat from the chaff. I've bought wisely and can't say I've had a duff product from them.

Thank you mate. Glad to hear it.👍 Yeah, fair play...Dennis's videos are very good quality. His ranking system was a good idea too. All the best.

It took eight months for this to reach the top of my KZbin feed but I'm glad it did - really helpful info, as usual. I have about half of the daily tools you highlighted already, so I'll take a look at the others next time I'm ordering from BG. (It's also reminded me to do a much-needed clear out / giveaway of my own tool collection!)

Well, glad you found it eventually Eddy. Genuine daily users most of these (you see em in my vids all the time). So many options out there now though. The main thing I'd recommend is the T-type marking gauges. Revelation for me. BG don't do the steel ones anymore but they can be found on aliexpress still.👍

😁 Cheers Mark. I'm surprised no one ever asked me tbh. Still, after 3 years and all those tools reviewed, thought it'd be interesting to share which ones have found there way into daily use.👍

Thank you, very informative as always. Could you please post a link to the Steel T-Type rule you show?
@BischBaschBosch
@BischBaschBosch 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark. If you expand the description above, all the links are there buddy. Steel t-type the first on the list. I'd drop it in this comment but only have my phone and can't seem to copy/paste link. Seems banggood only have the 500mm steel t-type available at the moment. They did do other sizes. Hopefully they're just restocking. Really decent layout tools these.👍

Great to hear. Yeah, there's a lot of junk on these big Chinese sites but also a few gems. That's why I did these videos. Hopefully help folks sort the wheat from the chaff.

If you do need to replace that saddle square, Axminster Tools do a range of Japanese squares that are stainless steel including a saddle square. I have had their small square for years and it is a joy to use.

Great reviews! Keep up the good work. Would love to see you review the latest Banggood or Ali solution to the Festool Domino using a horizontal router :). We cant all afford OEM or the 200% or more markup to pay for a new BMW

Cheers Marc. Think i know the thing you mean. Ganwei branded from BG. Been in my watch/wish list for a bit. Ganwei bits I've reviewed have been well made, good quality. I'd have to get a router for it too and I'm reluctant to get electricals from BG. Also, a review says it came with US sockets. No option to select volt options on the site so not sure what the deal is there. I'll ask the BG reps though and maybe take a look. Have you thought about Peter Millard' s (10 minute workshop) plywood loose tenon jig? Will only cater to festools 5mm dominoes but is a decent budget option. I have one and been meaning to review it for ages. I should pull my finger out and get on that!

Looks like a real shop. The tools you actually use are believable, too. Those cats making hundreds of thousands are, generally speaking, more entertainers in their studio than woodworkers.
@BischBaschBosch
@BischBaschBosch 2 жыл бұрын
Cheers man. Yeah, I can assure you it's a real, working shop. The KZbin is very much a secondary concern. You're right though. A lot of the bigger channels are basically video production studios with production assistants and editors. Fair play to them though. Just not a direction I'm interested in. Joiner and furniture maker first for me.👍

@@BischBaschBosch I've been encouraged to record KZbin videos. The chief proponent is brimming with ideas about what I should do to make lots of $$$. I'm okay. He suggests downright silly schemes like opening a woodworking school out here on the dusty, treeless high prairie of Wyoming. But I'd be interested in recording three to ten minute segments somewhat like yours from time to time. I know some things that would interest avid woodworkers. Can you suggest bodies of information I should become familiar with ? I don't imagine making significant money or being sent viewers by the algorithm nor do I want to sell coffee mugs or pricey goods, just share a little of what I've seen.
@BischBaschBosch

@@markkoons7488 Hi Mark. Sorry it's taken so long to see your comment. Yeah, avoid entering the KZbin woodworking community as a way to make money. You'll very likely end up disappointed. If you just want to share knowledge of the craft, workshop knowledge etc, just go for it! Assuming you've already knowledge/experience in this area, I don't know what you mean by "bodies of work" I can recommend. What I would advise is to seek advice (video tutorials) on thumbnails, lighting, editing and filming equipment. Something I wish I'd done. Best of luck.

If it's a small item like I feature in the video and you're in the UK, it should take 8 - 12 days on average. I know people in Australia say, have had to wait a month or so. If in the UK, double check your item isn't under "restocking". They should have a date when this should happen. If you ordered a bigger boxed item - like a 3d printer - it is likely to have been sent by sea rather than air, so will take a month or so. 90% of what I've ordered has had some level of tracking. This at least will tell you when it's reached the destination country.

Haven’t found Banggood too cheap. Their customer service on the other hand is woeful. I don’t I will buy anything else from them. Plenty of other online sellers with better value.
@BischBaschBosch

Banggood pricing fluctuates. They offer deals periodically where they can compete with the cheapest suppliers. You just have to wait. I went with banggood purely because they have by far the fastest shipping (8 - 10 days to the UK). Wish, Aliexpress and the anonymous sellers in China on eBay and Amazon take over a month to deliver the same items in my experience. Buying on eBay using PayPal or from Amazon, you are a little better protected with regards refunds/returns but Wish and Aliexpress are no better than banggood in that respect. Buying something from the other side of the world always carries a risk. That's why I do these reviews. Hopefully helping people to make better choices. I'm reviewing the tools in my videos, not Banggood. So my reviews of the tools applies where ever you decide to buy from.

Most stolen ideas and products from other companies. It's EASY to copy and sell cheaper when the initial investment was NOT yours. It's hard to innovate, create, develop, test, tool up and produce the first ones! Try bringing an original product to market and you will quickly see what it takes to innovate vs. just copy!
@BischBaschBosch

Steve, as someone who's developed and brought 3 products to market - 2 of which can be found on my channel - let me just say that, for simple machined tools/accessories at least, by far the hardest part is finding the capital to realise the design. Most tools/accessories are tweaks or amalgamations on what's come before. It's what we humans are good at. Building on knowledge. With regards these Banggood products, I make no bones in my reviews when somethings a blatant copy. People can make their own choice as to whether to seek the OEM or not. In these reviews, my aim is to help sort the wheat from the chaff for those who might not be able to afford the OEM products - from Woodpeckers, Bridge City or Festool say - and maybe make better choices if they decide to purchase tools/accessories from China.

Assuming the "dual marking guage" is the one I think it is, the link no longer works. Try putting this in a banggood url with the dot-html after it. Stainless-Steel-Woodworking-Marking-Gauge-European-Double-Head-Mortise-Gauge-Scriber-Ruler-p-1984609

Thanks for the heads up Nick. I've changed the dual marking gauge link now. My version seems obsolete now but essentially, the same as the one via your title (the one I now link to). Looks like the newer version has more chamfered edges on the stock than the rounded on mine.
