Not what I was planning to teach at my recent seminar, but when people have questions, you gotta answer them. The over-arm wrap trap, is a tricky and cool option the back to get the triangle or crossover arm bar. Thanks to @griffonrawl_combat_sports for having me out, and thanks to @xmartialofficial for the amazing gear.

Love these moves, theres a guy I roll with who always seems to escape my back control, so ive been looking at how to tighten up my vanilla game but also for more creative solutions like these

With all do respect after you wrap him, wouldn't it be 100 times easier to take his neck than that wrist ? How do you realistically secure that wrist ?
@austindeshazo1428
@austindeshazo1428 2 жыл бұрын
Any competent person is gonna pull their wrist out. You can’t hold a wrist like that unless the opponent is very weak.
@sethlewis8262
@sethlewis8262 2 жыл бұрын
@@austindeshazo1428 that's what I was thinking too. A lot of these always look cool but I don't see how to do that against someone other than a white belt or someone very weak
@KnightJiuJitsu
@KnightJiuJitsu 2 жыл бұрын
Going for the neck is an option, but not the best. You may or may not be able to secure the wrist, and several options exist whether you do or not. The guy above is incorrect in saying that any competent person will pull their wrist out, because the person has a lot to prioritize in that moment and they are at a deficit in the match to begin with. This will work on people of various levels, not only white belts, and it isn’t just a “cool looking move.”
