This video shows the difference between "over-gliding" and "carefully gliding" based on my definition🧐
When you over-glide, it affects your body balance as well as your speed. (The former "over-gliding" video: 7 strokes, the latter "carefully gliding" video: 12 strokes/25yds.)
It is important to swim with less stroke count, so over-gliding is not a bad thing when you "practice." You need more balancing skill and you need to create more acceleration. You can apply those skills when you swim faster/longer with less glide.
