A man fighting for what is important to him with massive strength and dedication, you dont see it these days anymore. Now it is mostly a female hero among stupid men or a cynical man "not accepting inner struggles". Thank god we had Top Gun that may induce a new wave of healthy action movies.

This movie is fantastic. I love how Cutler, despite his antagonistic nature, is just afraid of losing his grandson to Hawk, and therefore having no legacy. Zumwalt and Way were arm wrestlers.. But did you know the tournament was real? They used some of the real material. Scenes with Sly were staged but other shots were for real. In a few scenes you can see Scott Norton who won the entire tournament in the heavyweight division.. Then there's also John Brzenk (he slaps Carl Adams in the movie and has one swift match himself) who is the greatest arm wrestler of all time.. He won the truck (the same from the movie) in the truckers division.. Allen Fisher.. Cleve Dean can also be seen in the movie. He was supposed to be Sly's opponent but he weighted 600 pounds so it would look unreal. Those were the real high level armwrestlers that can be seen in the movie for a couple of seconds..

One plot angle this movie's script clearly dropped the ball on. Hurley should've been working for Cutler, with Cutler offering Hurley 6 or 7 figures to beat Hawk in the match. Towards the end Cutler should've told Hurley to "break his hand". Then Hurley could've gotten upset and said "No, I do this for the love of the game. I may not like the Hawk, but I respect him". It would've added more depth to Hurley's character. He should've had more scenes in the movie as well. Like, we should've seen him standing by Cutler's side in a suit with his hands folded whenever there were scenes with Cutler.
